A real 3-hit combo of tumblr posts rn
honestly i don't trust any argument that hinges on "this surgery is GROSS and HORRIFIC and MUTILATING!" because that is every fucking surgery. surgery is gross. it involves cutting people open and doing stuff to parts of the body that was never meant to have stuff done to it. and surgery recovery is frequently an ordeal and can involve nasty stuff that sucks to look at. thats just how surgery works. if someone's body being cut open and messed around with and sewn up, and recovering bruised and bloody and having to drain pus is grounds for something being horrific mutilation, then pretty much every surgery is mutilation. there is a reason why doctors generally don't judge the merits of a surgery on how gross it looks and instead focus on silly little things like "how safe is it to perform" and "how much does it improve the patient's life". do not trust anyone who wants you to think a surgery is bad just because its upsetting to hear the gory details about how its performed (especially if they are Not A Doctor)
All surgery is gross and you shouldn't listen to people who try to discourage you from getting surgery done that you know for a fact will improve your life and that also applies to doctors who are not your doctor. If you have a doctor in the family who doesn't want you to get gender affirming surgery that you know for a fact will do more good than harm then don't let their authority as a doctor speak over what you know you want. Listen to your doctors, be aware of the risks when getting a surgery done, but do not listen to just any doctor, especially if they have ulterior motives such as not wanting you to transition. A doctor who is not your doctor's opinion on your surgery is not inherently worth any more than that of someone who is not a doctor to begin with and I'm tired of people acting like it is.
Sorry to hijack but this applies to cesareans too. There's a massive stigma around getting a C section here to the point doctors won't even mention it as a possibility until you're being wheeled in to the theater, even though a massive amount of people end up having emergency cesareans (which they have not been prepared for at all often leaving them traumatized). Elective cesareans should not be a shame riddled battle, cesarean education should be a standard during birth preparations.
Yes it is surgery, no it's not worse than a vaginal birth. Yes there are risks, there are risks in every birth, they're just different ones.
People who want a cesarean should be supported, not shamed and belittled and told they just don't know what they actually want
Collected my favorite post from each drug sub on reddit. I can't stop looking at these.

no bc all of joel’s buried trauma over sarah’s death is coming to the surface & getting worse by the day because everyday ellie becomes more important to him, and he thinks of her more as his daughter. & the mere thought of losing her is enough to make him (very literally) physically ill
Craig and Neil were absolutely insane for having Joel, having just learned his bother is going to be a father, leave and see an adult woman in the crowd who looks just like his daughter, and for a moment seeing how she could have grown up, and then seeing that woman go up to her own daughter, because if Sarah had lived she would have been in her mid 30s, and Joel could have been a grandfather.
and for a moment, just a moment, you can see the look on Joel’s face where he forgets its not Sarah
Pondering those orbs…
THE LAST OF US + the collective emotional trauma it causes <3
Let’s talk about the absolute disbelief and horror on Joel’s face when Ellie swore at the table. Lmfao his southern heart was shook

CAME OUT OF MY DADS PRINTER AT WORK TODAY..........
[image description: a picture of a printed message on a piece of paper. before the message is a picture of pope john paul II smiling and with his hands raised in the air. below it reads:
Hi,
if you're reading this message, it's highly likely that your printer is exposed to the public internet via port forwarding. This means that *anyone* on the internet with some technical knowledge can send print jobs to your printer - or worse, try to exploit it and use it as a part of a global botnet.
If you didn't intend for this, please look into disabling UPnP (Universal Plug and Play) on your router, or remove the port forwarding rule for the port 9100.
