Do they want that list in alphabetical, chronological, or body count order?
How is bnha anime of the decade...... they aren’t even anime of the hour of the minute of the second
The notes on this post were so toxic that staff just axed em
1969.........
Yes, when the original post is deleted from the server (not just the blog, but the Tumblr servers), there is no root post for notes to be added onto, and also no root post for time to be counted from, so it starts from zero. Most computer operating systems use Unix, which was launched in 1971 with t.he epoch date of midnight on January 1, 1970 as 1. Therefore zero is one second behind that date: December 31, 1969. Also, very unfortunately, this also means nobody except you and anyone you reblog it to will see this explanation, as you cannot open the notes to see comments when there are no notes.
Tumblr is truly one of the webbed sites ever
ohmg
decolonizepalestine.com is an easy to navigate website run by two palestinians which breaks down common myths about palestine and provides a reading list organized by a wide variety of categories ranging from history and culture to media and censorship. it’s a good starting point to use if you want to learn more about the modern day situation in palestine and understand the truth behind myths that have been perpetuated about israel’s occupation of palestine.
don’t just reblog this, please take time to actually read through the website. it’s the least you can do as palestinians are being killed by the thousands and world leaders are turning a blind eye to a genocide happening in real time. i’ve seen the headlines about the israeli airstrike on al-ahli hospital that killed hundreds of palestinians change in real time, with western media outlets refusing to call it what it is— a war crime. the tide seems to be shifting a little bit in regards to media making excuses for israel to commit these atrocities which is probably because of how much people are showing out for palestine.
please read and share and pray that we see a free palestine in our lifetimes.
the political backlash against masks in any context is going to leave so many people with weird lung problems that have nothing to do with COVID
what was said: wearing a mask significantly reduces the likelihood of catching or transmitting airborne disease but does not completely prevent it
what was heard by the American public: it is vitally necessary to sneeze into each others’ mouths whenever possible and to inhale industrial dust and chemical fumes as quickly and in as large of quantities as you are able
had a contractor show up to remodel my friend’s bathroom yesterday and when told that the contract required him to wear a mask inside the home he claimed that it would make him pass out, so he chose to leave and not do the job
my good sir if you are in such frail health that wearing a mask will render you unconscious you have no business working a job where you are required to do shit like work with paint and chemicals and grind PVC…
That's a big problem with any sort of anti-science stance, it will rapidly expand out past its origin point in order to maintain itself. Admitting masking can be useful under any circumstance will sink just about any rationalization or justification for not wearing one for Covid. So instead they double down. See also: vaccines.
yeah there are people starting to oppose vaccinating their dogs for rabies 🙃
anyway there is gonna be a whole generation of professionals dying of silicosis and mesothelioma in the coming years because they either refused to wear masks out of some warped desire to Stick it to the Libs or because their employers and trainers and coworkers downplayed the necessity of PPE
What you’re supposed to do? You’re supposed to EAT IT, that’s all, you eat it. Eat as much of it as you can, and you KEEP eating it!
THE STUFF 1985 | dir. Larry Cohen
The script was an original story by Cohen. He said, “My main inspiration was the consumerism and corporate greed found in our country and the damaging products that were being sold. I was constantly reading in the newspapers about various goods and materials being recalled because they were harming people. For example, you had foods being pulled off the market because they were hazardous to people’s health.” Cohen cited as his influence, “the sheer volume of junk food we consume every day. We continue to eat these foods despite the fact some of them are killing us. That’s when I started thinking that The Stuff could be an imaginary product— in this case an ice cream dessert— that is being consumed by millions and is doing irreparable damage to humanity. Everybody is gobbling down this yummy food, so how can it possibly be wrong for us?”
you know there actually is a meaningful difference between 'men's' and 'women's' deodorant beyond the selection of scents. 'mens' plays better with pit hair and doesn't pill up in it and 'womens' tends to have a more powdery finish to help prevent chafing. so really the two genders are actually hairy and bald.
realizing this was such a paradigm shift for me and i have to wonder what other "uselessly" gendered products are like this, where they actually are different in a way that would be useful to consumers but some marketing department decided instead of just saying what the difference is, to prescribe which you need based on the most arbitrary metric, so nebulous that what it even means varies from person to person. as if they think you're too dumb to look at "anti-chafing powder formula" and "lightweight gel formula" and decide for yourself which one would work best.

WE BROKE 'EM, BOYS
Just came across an episode of the 60′s Addams Family TV show where the Addamses take in a greaser motorcycle punk and, as you would expect, are absolutely delighted to have him as a houseguest.
And, like, the normal episode formula for this show so far has been “Some new normie meets the Addams family with some sort of ulterior motive, gets freaked out, and eventually abandons their schemes out of fear.” But while the episode began in that direction, the greaser actually starts to like the family because, you know, they accept him for who he is.
It turns out his dad is trying to track him down and make him conform to societal standards, and the Addamses, not knowing this, invite the dad over for a birthday party they’re throwing for the kid. And though the dad is also initially put off by the Adams family, he sees how his son loves them because they loved him unconditionally, and is shamed into opening his mind towards his son.
And fuck, man, it got me because I did not expect something that earnest from a 60′s sitcom, especially one as gleefully irreverent as this one. The tumblr posts are right, the Addamses would accept you for who you are.
