In all the years he’s visited this quiet, rural cafe, Grimsley has never cared greatly about the view from it. He’s passionate about the coffee (strong, and just what he needs to quell a ferocious impending hangover), but he’s never stopped to smell the flowers as he occupies his usual outdoor table, surveying the bordering woodland.

Yet, suddenly, now that some sort of scientist is sticking barometers in the ground and making a general nuisance of herself—he’s a powerful, raring advocate for the view. The view is one of this cafe’s primary attractions! Doesn’t she realise she’s spoiling it?

❝You know, you’re in the way.❞

This really wasn’t what she wanted to spend her day doing. Going around, checking the atmospheric pressure of various areas. It was a job that had to be done at least every few weeks, thought it was the most tedious of all the jobs meteorologists had to do.

Her almost transfixed expression quickly changed as she heard someone complaining about her presence. Turning towards the voice, she noticed that it was a customer of the cafe. She had almost forgot that there was a cafe right next to this spot. “I apologize, but there really isn’t much I can do. This is the area I was asked to check. I can’t just not do my job.”
