Volume 9 PDF updated 2/3/2025:
Volume 9 updated and completed
Note: From this point onwards I don't think I'll be able to keep up with the updates. I barely read it anymore, a lot of years have passed and I have more pressing matters to attend IRL so these PDFs will only work as a quality of life for those that want PDF reading but are not desperate to read the updates as soon a translator picks them up. Sorry for the inconvenience.
It's all about the sauce:
The chapters translations are made by OtherSideofSky and Comun. You can read the original raw text submitted by the translator in The Beast Lair along with epub versions.
About the Manga:
You should also read the manga. It has a sharp and beautiful art style (by Morii) and complements the story already being told in the LN.
Credits to:
Thanks to Nakula for translating the initial version (2008) of F/SF Vol 1, and Mew and Food for the extra chapters to complete the final Volume 1. Thanks to OtherSideofSky for translating the Volumes 2 to 6 and Comun for Volume 7 onwards. And thanks to Ryohgo Narita for writing Strange Fake!
I suggest following me on Twitter if you so desire getting updates when I... update... these PDFs. It's also a better way of communicating with me in case it's necessary since this post is a revision of the original I made back then in 2017 but the Tumblr account was breached and deleted the pinned post (this one) so... yeah, there's that.

hello mr j! i think you and kofu are very cute
Can you say one of your younger friends or family who is rude, rascal and violent is cute because of their appearence even if they were adult!?
Please imagine;
You are around 60 years old, and your son in law around 25 years chases you at full speed then bites and beats you every day, can you say he is cute!?
at the end of the day the venezuelan election could have been procedurally perfect and free from all imaginable corruption and government interference and there would still be no such thing as a "fair, free election" in venezuela as long the USA stays committed to starving the country unless one party wins
like if you want Eyes on Venezuela because you think maduro strongarmed the electoral process maybe you should also put some fuckin Eyes On the country that's blackmailing every last Venezuelan voter by withholding food and medicine until they elect their preferred candidate
sorry for being passionate about how normalized the ability to stand is and no one talks about n how painful it is and it makes me see red sorry it’s just so pointless . Im killing the protestant work ethic and also the concept of “professionalism” with my hands . Everyone start sitting on the ground at bus stops with me
For what it’s worth I think Algerian women should be allowed to do quite literally whatever they want on French soil considering the atrocities generations of Algerian women faced during the revolution, like Imane Khelif should be getting free swings at every member of state while she’s in Paris! Hope this helps!
“It’s so crazy JKR is misgendering a real cis WOMAN who was raised as a GIRL her whole LIFE what a dummy” is such a dogshit argument lol stop ceding ground to the idea that cis women have a more legitimate claim to womanhood because they were “born and raised” a woman and that’s why it makes this misgendering “more” ridiculous somehow. transphobes being constantly wrong about who is “actually transgender” is not their trans clocking radar ‘misfiring,’ they are proudly, openly, and successfully terrorising the public into accepting a very narrow & particular white suprematist notion of gendered divisions in society. JKR is not ‘mistaken’ she’s a fucking white supremacist who hangs out with other white supremacists & advances white supremacy through the language of transphobia. why is anyone still acting like she’s “making mistakes” where have you people been
the fact that any athlete can be subjected to "gender testing" on a whim because osmeone thinks she is too strong, too fast, just simply Too Good to be a woman is so fucking antifeminist, how can these people not see it?
all you need is one opponent crying big fragile tears because you were better than her and suddenly you are subjected to humiliating medical tests, every second of which is splashed onto the news as a scandal, and god forbid you are discovered to be intersex! you can be barred forever from sports for being born a woman The Wrong Way, and tricking everyone into thinking you are a Correct Woman. even if you are also just now discovering it. quick question do you, person reading this, know your chromosomes? are you sure? have you had them tested?

whenever i see talk about third spaces people pretty much always mean bars, or other places of consumption. Nobody really talks about something like a public bathhouse that would be a massive boon for local homeless people, or making local laundromats a free public service. These can, and I think absolutely should be valuable and very utilitarian third spaces for community building.
The contemporary corporate culture around mental health awareness/support is so fucking agonising. It's like this play-acting of social responsibility by forcing people to sit through empty platitudes and useless advice written by and for bougie fucks whose greatest mental health issue is feeling a little stressed before their monthly performance review. To add injury to insult, many of the institutions pushing this stuff the hardest are the ones most responsible for the material conditions that actually cause or exacerbate so many mental health problems. Like having decent working conditions or reliable access to housing is gonna improve mental health a lot more than breathing exercises and mindfulness.
The threat of hospitalization harms more people. Many people—suicidal people, psychotic people, people with certain types of OCD—don’t get therapy because they’re afraid of being hospitalized. Many people who do get therapy don’t disclose the true extent and nature of their mental illness, which means that the therapist can’t help with the problems that are most serious. Some people avoid telling certain medication side effects to their psychiatrists for similar reasons. One of the most important therapeutic tools is the strength of the therapist-patient relationship; how much damage does it do to the relationship if the therapist can, at any time and without meaningful due process, put the patient into jail?

One takeaway I have from all this noise around Imane Khelif is that a lot of grifters and TERFs had to make up a trans person to be mad at, which is really sad and funny. I feel awful for her.
My second takeaway is people think sports are about fairness? What? Since when?
Despite being born a woman, Algerian Olympic boxer Imane Khelif has become the target of transphobes like JK Rowling, who call her a "biolog
Karim Zidan comes through with an article explaining all. True champion of combat sports journalism.
[Image ID: Text from the linked article which reads, “The truth is that there is no indication that Khelif did anything wrong. She has not been accused of doping to boost testosterone levels, nor is she transgender. She was born female, as was confirmed by the IOC. The real scandal isn’t Khelif’s presence at the Olympic Games but the hatemongering from Musk and Rowling that could cost the Algerian athlete her life.
So much for protecting women.” End ID.]
smalltalk is important. smalltalk is one of the "social glues" that hold communities together. smalltalk is a ritual of signaling to other people that you are safe to talk to. now think for a minute about being a person who is completely unable to engage in an activity that holds communities together or signals to other people that they are safe to talk to. think about how that would limit that person's ability to engage safely with their community, limit the support they get from others, lead to pervasive loneliness and isolation. think for a minute about the resentment that would build up from that type of isolation.
this is not just about fully verbal autistic people. this is also about people who are entirely unable to speak, or people whose speech is "different" in some way that prevents smalltalk. this is about selectively mute people, and people who use AAC for whatever reason, and people with disorganized speech and anybody for whom "just learn these rules of smalltalk by rote" doesn't work.
