Ive been hiding my face behind the grindstone lately, building and painting some giant aluminum composite panels for the annual summer show @gallerypoulsen! The lineup this year is absolutely crazy. Besides your favorite Poulsen artists, theres some awesome new artists Im really excited to show alongside like @bernardosiciliano, @monicacookstudio, and @colin.chillag. Check out gallerypoulsen.com for the full lineup. ----------- Here's some shots of the under drawings, that Ill later coat in acrylic matte medium to save as I paint over top. At this scale I dont worry as much about an accurate and pretty underdrawing because I know Im going to be correcting proportions and shapes as I go. If it were a more delicate small scale piece I might try to keep things nice, so I have a really clear idea of where the paint needs to go. Cant wait to show you the finished piece and all the details!
