Lately I’m thinking a lot about the misogyny in the trope of the woman who the narrative or readership treats as uniquely valuable because she embodies no traditionally feminine traits. It is frustrating to see work that is perceived or presented as feminist that does this. Has something to do with how pop culture got confused about what a “strong female character” is.

And Vattu herself is pointedly not feminine (right now), but hopefully her not being the only woman in the story doesn’t lead it to say something I’m not trying to say????
