uphill battle.
@mgjiyong.
Jaemin knows he shouldn’t be here.
One, he’s not much of a party person—typically resulting in the youth hiding away from the crowd on one of the couches, tediously dodging the longing gazes and wandering hands of strangers. On most occasions, he’s dragged along (though with much resistance) to said parties, and this circumstance was no different.
“I’m not going.”
“Can you just not be a buzzkill for once and come to the damn party?”
“No.”
“I’ll take you out for ramen if you do.”
“...Damn you.”
And two, he could be home, relaxing and de-stressing after finals, but he’s out instead standing before this bustling warehouse blaring with music and cacophonous cheers, peering inside only to find, to no surprise, the building packed with people, bodies moving fluidly in accordance to the music.
(And it takes all of Jaemin’s self control not to turn back and blast the hell out of there.)
Gravity seems to weigh him down more and more with each step he takes towards the warehouse, and his mind is buzzing with instant regret the moment he makes it inside. He recognizes more than a few faces, offering a casual wave of his hand before continuing along. Already, he’s feeling stifled, attempting to relieve himself by tugging at his collar while being jostled around by individuals dancing or making their way around the building. The air’s too thick, music too loud, people too audacious. Jaemin just wants to go home, and he thinks he’s lost Jiyong somewhere in the crowd.
He knows this is going to be a long night.
