Well, the only thing you can do to cure a bad mood is either talk to someone or drink some alcohol.
Guess which one I did?
I'm guessing the same choice I normally make as well.

Come onâŠ
Nice dress.
Mia, itâs a simple yes or no question.
Yes but how do I know if he wants the same?
Putting back the pieces || Mia&Amelia
Amelia arched her eyebrows upwards, âYou know Iâm not a fan of your flirting, Mia,â she said sternly. It wasnât good for Mia to go back into her old habits right when she was still trying to figure something out with Alex. When the two friends hugged, Amelia realized how much she missed hugging Mia. âWell maybe itâs time for a change,â Amelia said comfortingly. There wasnât even a hint of judgement in her tone, because she wasnât judging her friend at all. Sure, she wasnât proud of what her friend did sometimes, but she wasnât going to be judgmental either.
She almost felt judged as Amy raised her eyebrows. She wasn't judging her as well, was she? First Alex, then the rest of the campus and now her friend. Flirting was just Mia's way of having fun, the same way Lara plays video games or Amy takes photos, along with writing, flirting was Mia's way of saying 'screw you' to the world, essentially. "I know you aren't but that's because you haven't tried it. Harmless flirting is what the title said:Â harmless."
"How do you change a habit you've spent 17 years building up? The only people who I let in are you and Lara, no one else. Would I like to date Alex? Hell yes, he's basically my dream guy but...what if he isn't? I'm good at one night stands Amy, it's what I do: love them and leave them but dating? The constant pressure of having a standard to live up; I'd always be living in fear that I wouldn't be good enough for him and that he'd leave me."Â
[Alison doesnât believe her when she says heâs âjust a boyâ but she doesnât argue. That would most likely be counterproductive. Sheâs not sure if the younger girl is going to elaborate further but so far she has shared more than Ali expected her to. Itâs worth a shot.]Â Itâs not stupid. Itâs obviously about something that matters to you. [She pauses momentarily.]
What did he say?
[Mia suddenly comes to her senses, what the hell was she doing? Telling her problems to some random girl. She didn't even know her name! Was it really getting this bad that she would tell anyone? No, she could keep her emotions in tact, she would, she had too. She felt her hands starting to shake and promptly stood up]Â Look, sorry about the pen but I've got to go, I've got class soon and got to get my stuff. Sorry and thanks.
Well, he could take that personal. Feel rejected, what not.
Do you want to be with him?
...I guess.
I don't know, it's a definite maybe. Relationships require compromise and trust and giving up your values for someone else's benefit. It doesn't sounds like fun.
Putting back the pieces || Mia&Amelia
Amelia watched Mia flirt with the pizza guy. She rolled her eyes, but secretly couldnât help but think about desperate it made Mia look. âHarmless? I donât know if that was a good idea,â Amelia murmured honestly. She would always shrug her best friendâs behavior off, but it wasnât something that she should do. She needed to learn to talk about these things. "Iâm sorry Mia," was all Amelia could say in that moment. She scooted closer to Mia and offered to hug her. Amelia was terrible when it came to relationships. She had never really been in one, so whenever someone had issues all she could do was offer hugs and say that everything was going to be okay, even if it wasnât. Amelia took a deep breath, "Do you want to see him again? Do you want to talk it over with him?"
"Why not?" Mia asked, "It's just a bit of fun." Flirting with random boys was what Mia did best along with writing and, well, she hadn't been writing lately so it looked like flirting was her forte.
Mia smiled and leaned into her friends arms. She hated feeling sorry for herself but right seemed like a good moment to do such. Hugging Amy felt nice, it almost felt like things were okay. Hugs did that to her, made her emotional. Pulling away, Mia smiled weakly. "Of course I do I just don't know what I'd say. I do one night stands not...dating."
Keyword: trying. If he means anything to you, heâd be worth trying to talk to. Letâs pretend itâs important anyway, Iâm curious.
What would I even say? He said that I could tell him anything - it's stupid I know but that just freaked me out.
Because you care. Because itâs important to you. Because he is important to you. [Pushing off the table, Alison uncrosses her arms.] If it went sour, it must have been good at first. Did he⊠talk too much about himself? Was he boring? Gross? Rude? Did he do something he shouldnât have? Say something he shouldnât have? Did he fall asleep on you?
No he doesn't. He's just a boy, nothing. [Mia can't help but smile as the redhead rambled. She was easy to talk to, too easy almost] None of that, it sounds stupid, but he said some things that I didn't agree with.
At least you tried. Though he is still your friend, and he probably needs you, maybe you two should try taking things slow. What did he say?Â
He doesn't need me, he's got Leah and Amelia. Lar, if I tried to talk him he'd walk the other way. What's the point in even trying? Just...stuff nothing overly important.
Ah, I see. [Boy trouble. Alison nods and studies the younger girl carefully. She knows better than to disregard such things as trivial and is glad that the brunette is willing to talk.]
What happened?
It was a date that went sour. I'm so angry about it but I have no idea why.
Putting back the pieces || Mia&Amelia
Amelia nodded and pressed the space bar, the episode playing once more. Thatâs when Amelia heard a knock on the door. She pressed the space bar and got up, âIâll get that,â she said as she approached the door and opened it to revealed the pizza guy. âPizzaâs here,â Amelia called out to Mia over her shoulder. Mia had offered to pay after all. "You just ran away?" Amelia gasped, looking at her best friend closely, "Oh my gosh.. Iâm so sorryâŠ" she said, wondering about how Mia must feel. "Why did you? Run away, I mean," Amelia asked, worried about her friend and what went through her mind during the date.
Jumping off her the bed and running to the door, Mia payed the pizza guy and added a bit of flirting because, well, why the hell not? The guy complimented both the girls and promptly left, his number in Mia's hand. "What?" Mia asked, looking at her friend. "Harmless flirting is good for the soul, Amy dear." She laughed, carrying the pizza back to the bed.
She shrugged in an attempt to show Amy she wasn't bothered by it when she was. "He said some things which didn't work with me and I left. We argued and he stormed off in a fuss, we haven't seen each other since." Suddenly, all the feelings Mia had kept repressed since that date came flooding back. Watching him walk away had been hard for her, harder than she'd care to admit.

Amelia laughed softly, âSee, I told you, nothing too special,â she shrugged, closing the window after logging out. She clicked on the window with the F.R.I.E.N.D.S. episode and turned to Mia, âShould I play it?â she asked, her fingers hovering over the space bar. "As am I!" Amelia laughed at Miaâs comment. Remembering how much she loved reading the Harry Potter books and how they had helped her not feel alone. She felt like all of the characters had been almost real, as if she knew them like they were her best friends. Miaâs words snapped her out of the flashblack, "I heard," Amelia said softly. She took a deep breath and sighed, smiling genuinely, "Itâs okay to talk about it. Really.â
Mia waved her hand dismissively, smiling, "go ahead." Mia twisted her hands wondering where to start. "Are you sure?" Mia asked, "Okay well Alex asked me out on a date just before Christmas, I went and it was okay. Then he said some things, nice things, I freaked out and ran away. We haven't spoken since."
No, n- Yes! [Max opens his eyes then closes them again.] Actually, no Iâm not. Iâll just try to memorize the entire book some other time instead.
Using powers can really take a toll on people, donât you think?
Why are you trying to memorize an entire book?
I guess so, I never really use my powers so I can't say. Are you alright? Do you need to go the nurse?
[Glancing over her shoulder at the pen on the floor, Ali nods faintly.] Yeah, I figured. [Crossing her arms below her chest, she leans against the desk next to Miaâs.] What I donât know is why. And yeah, sure. Youâre in now way obliged to tell me but if you want to let off some steam⊠[She trails off.] Preferably by talking and not by throwing more pens. [Itâs moments like this when Alison wishes, she didnât have a problem with using her powers on random people. It would make things less complicated but it doesnât feel right.]
[Mia thought about the girls offer for a moment. Talking sounded nice, and especially with a complete stranger. She had tried to talk to Lara but she hadn't gotten much out of it.]Â I -Â [She stopped herself and stared out the window.]Â I went on a date and it didn't end well.
Freaked out how, exactly? Well if he is, you probably put him in that state. If he said nice things, then why do you sound so angry at him?
Freaked out by me running outside, him following, us arguing and them him walking away in a huff. Because he- he shouldn't have said it, we were having an awkwardly-nice time and then he ruined it by saying that.
[One of the last things Alison expects as she walks through the door is having a pen flung in her direction. What surprises her even more is that she manages to duck in time to avoid it. Quirking the right corner of her lips up into a half-smile, she eyes Mia and steps closer.] Almost. You might want to work on your aim a little.
[Leaning forward a bit, she asks in a soft but not condescending voice.] Are you going to voluntarily tell me why youâre throwing pens or do I have to beg?
[Mia wished she could care that she almost hit someone with her pen but she couldn't. Instead she put her head down and hoped the red head would walk away. She didn't.] Sorry. [She muttered, not really meaning it.]
[Realizing that the redhead wasn't going away, Mia closed her notebook, giving up on writing for another day. She studied the girl in front of her, she was Arthur's friend - that girl David was basically in love with. Always laughing and always smiling. She hated it]Â I just got mad.
