I don't think I've ever talked about tadc (other than vox x caine) but I've honestly fallen into the fandom with ep 8 and the "torture scene"
Caine doesn't torture them just because he gets "mad" or "offended". He gets mad because he literally just learned this behaviors from them!
"On top of it all, you just don't listen!" -Pomni
"What kind of all powerful being has such a fragile ego?" -Zooble
"You never let us feel like we're at home" - Ragatha
"You discourage us from thinking outside the box and doing things in our way" -Gangle
"You lie to us constantly" -Jax
Jax and Ragatha especially. Ragatha had issues with her mother which we know from both ep 5 and ep 8, she doesn't get to ask for "feeling at home". And Jax lies all the time, he doesn't get to ask for honesty.
And the way he tortured Gangle kinda matches with how she tortured Jax in ep 4 with the rapid "faces". Gangle can't blame Caine for "putting people in roles" and "boxes" when she does it herself at the Spuddsy's (?)
"Don't you wanna be a model employee?"
"No Idc about any of this"
(...)
"Maybe, you just need some more training!"
Literally tries to mind wash Jax
For Zooble, Caine just doesn't understand the concept of "body dysmorphia". And to Caine, Zooble just isn't pleased with anything even when he gives them the ability to change what they don't like about themselves. So Zooble can't say Caine is hard to "please" or gets hurt "easily".
Also, he proves to Pomni with the torture scene that he in fact listens. Because someone who doesn't listen can't just know the hypocrisy in those words and accusations. Pomni doesn't listen herself! She overstepped in ep 6 with Jax. It's clear in his voice that he clearly doesn't want to talk about abstractions or the way he acts.
One would understand that discomfort and just let it go. But noooo Pomni has to push and get him to open up by force.
So an AI like Caine, which doesn't know how to act beyond his programing and beyond his observations, would obviously pick up from their behavior and act that way.
And you know, the whole "escaping the circus" is just a terrible idea. Why doesn't any of them consider the time that was spent in the circus? Their human bodies are dead. The bodies are probably rotting somewhere in the real world, from starvation. What the [silly sound] do they think is gonna happen once they escape? Continue on with their lives in their bodies? Wrong! They'll outright just die. Literally the only thing that keeps them alive is the freaking circus!
Pomni has been in the circus for more than a week. Human body can't survive more than 7 days without water! So what the [silly sound]?
God I'm seeing so much Caine x Vox. Yes please, give me more of that ship I absolutely love it! Broken people with god complexes? Perfection issues? And abandonment issues? Yes yes yes yes yes, they'll comfort each otherrrr :'D
I was checking the Turkish language option in Cotl and "heretics" are "sapkın" in the Turkish version.
And "sapkın" does mean "heretic/someone that lost their way" in religious usage. But it can also mean "perverse"
And there's a word for pervert which is "sapık", only two letter difference. And at first I was like "indoctrinate perverts in your cult???" and read it wrong 😭
Everything you need to know about Cult of The Lamb Woolhaven - Guide (?)
! THIS POST DOESN'T TALK ABOUT LORE !
!!! Spoilers !!!
I will talk about what the update have given us and some tips. This is long, like REAL long. Skip to the subject you wanna see, which will be:
Bold, UPPERCASE and Bigger
Basics (items, places, new mechanics, rituals, doctrines)
Characters
Followers
Decorations
Fleeces
Quests
Extras
BASICS
Woolhaven brings a lot of new mechanics in the game, the main one being the season changes!
When you go in your cult, a Yngya statue will appear on the right side of the entrance. It will have a few requirements for you to access and open the Woolhaven town, which are basic stuff like mushrooms and crystals.
Before we move on, it's best to name some of the new items first:
Rotburn: The coal you use for your cult's warmth
Rotgrit: The burnt pieces of Rotburn, which you can craft back into Rotburn with 7 of them
Charged Shards: Things you get from storms
Cursed Yewbark: A new type of wood you can find on your crusades and craft into Pure Yewbark
Pure Yewbark: Needed for upgrading broken houses in Woolhaven cult or to build stuff in your own Cult
Wool: A new type of currency. Can be used for buying stuff from Woolhaven cult or to build stuff in your own cult.
Rotburn Fertilizer: Poop of your Rotten followers. Useful for the farms.
Chilli: A new type of food that will stop your followers from freezing upon consumption
Snow Fruit: A new type of food that will give your followers the "warm blooded" trait
Milk: Can be get from Cowish. A new type of food.
Snowdrops: A new type of flower that can be found in Ewefall. Used in building
Forget-me-not: A new type of flower that can be found in The Rot. Used in building and transaction
Regrowth Necklace: Follower will survive a natural death once
Winter Necklace: Follower works 50% faster during Winter
Warming Necklace: Follower will never freeze
Unlucky Necklace: All the unfortunate things that can happen in the cult will happen to the follower you give this to
Abnormal Necklace: Can be given to the Rotten Followers to keep them alive.
Once you have access to the town, you get access to The Rot and Ewefall, Yngya's Shrine, Woolhaven cult, Rotten followers and snowlambs, new rituals and doctrines.
Ewefall, is the outside of the mountain of the gods, filled with snow and heretics that took over under Marchosias' lead. Ewefall is full of wolves and Charged Shards, Cursed Yewbark and has some of the wool pieces for the Woolhaven cult members.
The Rot, is the inside of the mountain. It holds itself by Yngya and has cursed heretics. It's filled with fire and lots of rotten resources. Such as Rotburn, Forget-Me-Not, Chilli, Cursed Yewbark and has some of the wool pieces for the Woolhaven cult members.
The Rot is great for farming Rotburn during summer.
Yngya's Shrine is what enables winter. When you get the first shrine upgrade, you will get the Rotburn Furnace, which will keep your cult warm and add a meter for "cult warmth". The winter has 6 stages, 1 awakening and 5 levels:
"Winter has been awoken. While your Followers will enjoy the snow, they must be kept fed and warm. During winter, Farm Plots will freeze and seeds will not grow. Food must be managed carefully. If Followers are not kept warm, they will become too cold to work and worship."
Rotten Followers will poop Rotburn Fertiliser. Putting that on your farm plots ONCE, will make sure that they will never freeze again.
Winter 1: "Winter has gotten stronger! If the Cult Warmth drops too low, Followers may freeze. Make sure to fuel the Rotburn Furnace to prevent Followers from becoming frozen"
Winter 2: "Winter rages, and the Cult must weather the storm! Blizzards may occur and wreak havoc in your base. Fill the Furnace in order to dispel them."
The furnace can be filled with 60 Rotburn to dispel a blizzard.
Winter 3: "Winter grows stronger. Stockpile Rotburn and food to make sure your Cult is taken care of. Wolves will use the snow as a cover to attack ranch animals - keep an eye out so you can spank them away!"
Wolves will go for the traps first if you keep them around your ranch. Wolves also take 3 hits to kill, which will make them drop meat 1-3.
Winter 4: "Winter has gotten stronger! Buildings in your Cult may become snowed under. Build heaters around your Cult to prevent structures within a range from being snowed under. Heathers are powered by the Rotburn Furnace, and will only work when the furnace is fuelled."
A heather covers an area of 14x14. 1 for your bed section, 1 for farms and 1 for ranches will be enough for your cult. The heathers get in your blueprints when Winter 4 is unlocked. Snowlamb followers will cause places like the mating tent to get snowed under.
Winter 5: "Winter is howling! Blizzards will occur more often. Lightning may strike, which can destroy buildings and kill followers if you're not prepared."
You can take the lightings that are about to strike by going to the follower it's about to hit and save them.
Now, onto the Woolhaven Cult.
In the woolhaven cult, you can place the wools you find on your crusades when you go to Ewefall or The Rot, in the graves. Doing so will allow you to get the Woolhaven Followers, which I'll talk about in the characters section.
In the Woolhaven cult, you can upgrade the Yngya shrine by collecting lamb souls in the mountain and deposit them. Doing so will give you the Winter levels I mentioned before.
Helob will move into the Woolhaven cult. So don't freak out when you don't see him in front of Silkcradle.
Helob is also good for getting your first rotten followers from! What's a rotten follower? Rotten followers are followers you can get from The Rot or Helob. They will not starve, dissent, or get sick but will die after 10 days. Rotten followers are great to keep around for work and give no care.
If your Rotten followers get freaky with others, they will make your followers become Rotten too.
If you breed two real Rotten Followers (meaning you can't use your followers), you will get a Pure Rotten follower, which will look different from others.
You can keep a Rotten follower alive by giving them an "Abnormal Necklace"
Snowlambs are a bit similar to the Rotten Followers. They will not starve, dissent, or get sick but... Once summer comes, they'll die. You can make Snowlambs anywhere around your cult. To bring them alive, you need to have the "Life To The Ice" ritual unlocked. The ritual will unlock automatically by dropping from snowlambs.
Snowlambs can mate together to create a snowlamb which will have the permafrost trait, meaning it won't ever melt.
Snowlambs can only wear the Winter Necklace
Now, onto the rituals and doctrines
I talked about Life to the ice ritual.
Follower Weddings allow you to marry your followers together (Long live Leshycat). It is given by
Ritual of Shearing and Ritual of Gorging both come from the 4th doctrine of the Winter line
Ritual of Decay and Heal the Decay can be get from doctrines but the "heal the decay" can only be done in medbay.
Bonfire Ritual 2 is given by Yngya when Winter 1 is unlocked.
CHARACTERS
Woolhaven brought us a TON of new characters.
Woolhaven Cult:
Yngya: Yngya is the main character (or objective) of Woolhaven. Woolhaven as a place is her temple and sheep worship her. She is the God of Winter/Seasons and has been killed in the Heart of the Mountain.
Yngya has 2 related achivements: Rot No More and Respect Thy Mother. Defeat Yngya and defeat Yngya without damaging her yourself
Yngya has 2 special missions. One for a bonefire ritual and one for placing flowers in woolhaven. Placing flowers before defeating her will cause her mission to not pop up and will restrict you from getting her fleece (speaking from experience unfortunately)
Baraq: Baraq is a disciple of Yngya. He is a rancher/shepherd. He will sell you Yakish, Cowish, Llamaish, Crabish, Snailish, Spiderish, Turtleish for wool. You can use these animals for resources such as more wool. Baraq has a quest board that you must complete in order to get access to other animals.
Aniel: Aniel is a disciple of Yngya. She is a scholar. She has a game that is similar to rock-paper-scissors which is called flockade. You can bet and play with woolhaven cultists.
Koka: Koka is a disciple of Yngya and a "stargazer". She will give you new tarot cards when you do her quests. You only get 6 of them for free but the rest needs to be bought for 24-48 wool. She is the wife of Chazaq (boo) and mother of Keru and Aza.
Her cards($): Frozen Heart, Molten Heart, Shearing Blade, Verglas Shard, Winter Welcomed, Frost's Bite, The Faithless, As Above, So Below, The Alchemist, The Stray, The Bellwether, Solstice Night
Chazaq: Chazaq is a disciple of Yngya. He is "shrewd". This man will try to sell you blueprints but DO NOT, and I repeat, do NOT fall for it. Don't waste your wools on this man. You can get everything (except for Crescent Vase, Tall Candle, Sun Rug, Large Bell, Barrel of Swords and Barrel of Spears as they are quest items) in dungeon runs. You do not need this man to get your wool. If you got like, two blueprints left, it's fine. But nothing more than that. He's Keru and Aza's father. God I hate this man.
Rami: Rami is a disciple of Yngya. They're a weapon smith. You can get the new weapons from them by collecting weapon fragments. Doing the quests will force-weapon. But after quests, you need to buy it with wool to force them in your game.
Weapons: Scourge of Svarog(Hammer), Golden End(Sword), Ruin of Nirah(Dagger), Fate of Plimbo the First(Blunderbuss), Lambs' Slaughter(Axe), Defiler of the Divine(Gauntlet), Yngya's Torment (flail).
Sariel: Sariel is the previous cult leader for Woolhaven and a priest (?). His quests are the easiest of the bunch. But he is very hard to beat at flockade.
Yorabba: Yorabba is a warrior in Woolhaven cult. Not much is known.
Erlim: Erlim is an elder in the Woolhaven cult. Not much is known.
Temi: Unhealthy coping mechanism. They seem to have a crush on Rami. Not much is known.
Zawa: Zawa is a part of the Woolhaven cult. Not much is known.
Keru and Aza: Kids (twin boys?) of Koka and Chazaq. They take a part in their mother's quests.
The Knight: You can find a Hollow Knight statue by Sariel's church. You will get Hollow Knight fleece.
Icegore: By sacrificing an animal each blizzard at the statue that's in the right of the Woolhaven cult five times, you unlock icegore follower form.
Freepack/Ewefall:
Marchosias: Marchosias is the counterpart for Yngya and the other objective in Woolhaven dlc. He has taken over Ewefall after Yngya's absence. Might be an atheist.
Abas, Thoas, Gorgo, Nestor Festor and Mestor (triplets), Witness Ipos: Minibosses in Ewefall.
The Rot:
Executioner (Hagar): The same person that had killed us at the start of the game. She is blind in both eyes and it is done by the bishops when she refused to slay the lambs at first. You can have a boss fight with her and eventually get her in the Woolhaven cult if you do not kill her. Once in the cult, Sariel will demand you get her away or kill her. You can indoctrinate her in your own cult. You will get her trophy and a weapon fragment.
Poyel, Asbeel, Ophans, Eleleth, Witness Mammon: Minibosses in the Rot.
Side:
Gofernon: Gofernon is a mole that works for Yngya. He'll make your cult bigger if you pay him.
Sabnock: The "Forneus" of Ewefall. Will sell you stuff.
Scylla: The "Ratoo" of Ewefall. Will get you hearts and sometimes frozen hearts. Sister of Charybdis
The gardener: You can give flowers to their flowers and get follower forms/buildings/clothes. In the Rot.
Furfur: A sex club owner, Monch's grandmother. She will raise your followers' sin level. In the Rot.
Stella: A moth that works in the sex club. She has a male counterpart that was cut from the game.
Valac: A dragon in the Rot. You can take her eggs and get follower forms from them.
Charybdis: The "Ratoo" of the Rot. Will get you hearts and sometimes molten hearts. Brother of Scylla.
Stranger?: The stranger is a donkey (files confirm) that appears in Spore Grotto as an alternative to Plimbo. They will take Rotten witness eyes from you.

So we got a bunch of new follower forms. (I went and recorded it all so you can see their alternative variants and colors <3).
