really, elliot hadn’t thought this plan through. not at all. what was she going to do, hide for the rest of the night? maybe…if she had to. or at least until he left. she was that set on avoiding him. grey eyes came up when she heard a voice, praying it wasn’t the guy she was hiding from. but no, it was someone else, who was peering down at her with a raised brow. “shhhhh.” she hissed, risking a glance over the top of the pool table, to see if the guy had noticed. all clear, however - he was distracted at the bar. “obviously.” she replied, brows furrowing at the guy standing over her. “—–no, i just lost a penny down here and i really love that penny so i thought i’d better find it.” sarcasm? definitely.

“Oh yeah, definitely a rhetorical question,” Micah said, one eyebrow still cocked as he watched her do her thing, thinking that she wasn’t totally obvious. He shook his head at her sarcasm and didn’t for a moment drop his gaze to the floor. “That’s sort of sad. Not the penny, that’s obviously a bad lie to get me off the scent. But that you feel like you need to hide from people.”

Camden Market was one of Rhiannon’s favorite places to shop in London. She never knew what she would find there, which made every trip a surprise. Right now, she was at a stall selling clothes, her eye being caught by a particularly pretty shawl. Stopping to try it on, she pulled out her cellphone to admire her own reflection in the camera. Wanting a second opinion, she turned to the nearest person passing by. “What do you think?” she asked, giving a slow twirl so the other person could see it on her from all angles. “Does it suit me?”

Micah was holding his camera, snapping random pictures of Camden Market as he followed his target all over the place. They never seemed to notice him, and he had so far managed to indicate at least three places where money was dropped off. These people really needed to pay more attention. It helped that anyone took him for a tourist. He hated it, but then again: he took his advantage. He had snapped a picture again when someone spoke to him. He dropped the camera and raised an eyebrow. He had taught himself a few words Korean - mostly through K-pop - but he didn’t think that was necessary right now. “I think you should go for a darker shade. It looks good, but I think this one,” he reached around her to pick up an identical shawl in a darker colour, “makes you stand out more.” He said, holding it out to her.

“oh —shit.” knees gave way as elliot dropped behind the pool table — really, a legendary move. okay, she’d already had a few drinks, so maybe that was affecting her decision making just a little bit. but then again, terrible choices was pretty on brand for the brunette, regardless of how inebriated she was. but right now, this felt like a better option than the guy she’d spotted at the bar seeing her. she’d run into him before, and while elliot was a notorious flirt, the guy was a weirdo, and she really didn’t want to deal with having to fend him off yet again. so yes, she was hiding. probably in someone’s way, but for the moment, that was secondary.

The bar was not very crowded, Micah didn’t drink all that often, certainly not when he was on the job, but his informant had just left and from what he had gathered, all there was left to do for him was write the beginning of the story and return here in 24 hours to pick up the ending of it. He heard the sound of someone cursing, and turned his head towards the pool table. Curious as he was, he walked to it and looked around the corner of it. “You hiding from someone?” he asked, raising an eyebrow.

It had been a day. Honestly, she was glad that it was over. Not only had her co-pilot today absolutely gone on her last nerve, but she had also managed to ruin her best work blouse even before takeoff. The looks she had gotten on her way home on the tube had not exactly been great either - most people just weren’t used to someone having a huge red stain on a white piece of clothing. And the look she received at the moment had her raise a single brow before she even commented. “Don’t look at me like that, it’s just tomato soup. I didn’t murder anyone.” Though, admittedly, that would probably be exactly what someone would say if they had murdered someone.

“You say that now, but I’m pretty sure it’s going to be your pretty face all over the news tonight, so please allow me the first interview, I can put you in a better light. Brought my camera,” Micah said, holding his camera in the air. He was grinning. He had been on his way to visit his sister when he happened to find her walking the same direction. He could see she was in a foul mood, but he had long since stopped caring too much about the mood of others. Extend the right words, and you could change someone’s mood. Plus, he just really liked to annoy Leah.

Micah was adopted by a British family after his biological parents couldn’t take care of him anymore. He ended up in the foster-system for a few years until the Blackwell’s fostered him. He wasn’t supposed to stay there for long, but they ended up adopting him at their daughter’s inquiry. Micah was a very charming student and a kindhearted young child, except when his sister was concerned, because she still had to win back his love. He always felt like the odd one out due to being the Korean child of a white family, but found some reconnection to his past through other students with a Korean background. He studied Journalism, got an internship, but didn’t like the vibe around the office. So he went Freelance soon after, soon as he made contact with a few criminals, Micah started getting the kind of stories magazines and papers wanted to pay for. He got a criminal record because of it, but the amount of money he was making was crazy.

ESTABLISHED CONNECTIONS

Leah Blackwell ♠ His sister, the one who convinced their parents to adopt him after he spend about two years in their care. He was nine when she and her parents took him in, three years later she was the one to tell him to stay. Their relationship had been difficult before then, but it grew stronger after. He moved to London to study, and soon Leah moved there to do her job. They hang out as often as they can.

WANTED CONNECTIONS

College friend (has to be around Micah’s age): The two of you didn’t like each other when class started, Micah being too busy chilling with the International Students to pay much attention to his classes, you having a rivalry with him after a funny jab going wrong. Now you sort of appreciate each other,

Ex (has to be older than Micah, he has a thing, don’t ask): when the two of you met it wasn’t love at first sight, far from it, but Micah has a way with words. You liked him, for a while, but soon as he threw himself into his work, it was hard to drag him back out. You know that wasn’t the only reason, but Micah has always told you that it was.

Best friend: You put up with Micah despite knowing what he’s up to most of the time. Convince yourself it’s just a job he does, even if he has a weird way of doing it. Micah trusts you with his secrets, he enjoys your company above that of others because you at least call him out on his bullshit.

Roommate: Despite finally having money to get a place of his own, Micah does not like to live by himself. You’ve appreciated the call to move in with him, but you can’t stand the amount of times Micah comes home at odd hours and sometimes with scars or bruises to show for it.
