Le Mont Gellért surplombe la ville de Budapest. Il offre l’une des meilleures vues sur Budapest. Au sommet du mont se dresse la statue de la Liberté qui a été érigée en 1947 en souvenir de la « Libération » de Budapest par les troupes soviétiques.Un ou deux kilomètres plus loin, on arrive sur le quartier du château : il abrite comme son nom l’indique un château mais aussi la Galerie Nationale Hongroise, le Musée Historique de Budapest et la Bibliothèque Nationale Széchényi. La vue depuis la colline est également très jolie.
