Full moon rises over Mahanandi at Mount Soma.
You can take these teachings and come to understand them intellectually, and then file them away in a shoebox and decide you get it. Or, you can work with them to the point you find the truth of them deep within your own being. Only then can you truly live them. Only then do you truly understand them. (at Mount Soma)
On Becoming Invisible: Our inner resistances and inner conflicts are what are visible to others. Having no inner resistance means to be invisible. But invisible is not nothing. Quite the opposite… Invisible is everything Invisible is unbounded Invisible is eternal Invisible holds within itself all that is… all knowledge… all wisdom. Invisible is the eternal witness… silent… immutable… indestructible… full… tender… compassionate… loving. Invisible is freedom. Invisible is the unfettered heart. Invisible cannot be fathomed. Invisible is spontaneously admired, loved, worshiped.
Someone once said to the Guru, “Intelligent people might be smart, but they have no deep feelings.” To which the Guru replied, “That is not possible. The intellect is founded in deep feelings. Without a refined feeling level at the depth of one’s being, the intellect cannot be clear.” Different people show their feelings in different ways, express themselves in different ways, but that is not for others to judge.
“Do not try to understand them. And do not try to make them understand you.” This beautiful quote from the movie "The Last of the Mohicans" is so far reaching. It feels best to put no limits upon it. It applies to so much of life… to every single relationship… to dealings between cultures and to those whom we love so deeply… our children, our partners, our friends. To grasp anything, to name it, to define it, to decide you understand it… is to limit it. So much of life’s beauty lies in its unfathomability. To understand better, do not hold on. Let go.
Maharishi Mahesh Yogi once said of his Teacher, Guru Dev, "It is rare that such a highly evolved individual would manifest so deeply into matter." Matter is a deep condensation into identity.
~ True Love Requires Understanding, Not Knowing ~ We each live in our own unique world. We expect the truths of another’s world to be the same as ours, but they are not. For a time, your truth, your world will coincide with another’s. We call that friendship, comradery, or even love. True love with another endures even during those times when your worlds diverge. Such times can be painful. When your beloved’s world diverges from yours, just hold them more deeply in your heart in that place that transcends the worldly...

I’m extremely excited that it is now time to start teaching the advanced meditation techniques! When you build a house, the first thing that happens is the construction of a foundation. Our Surya Ram Meditation practices have cultivated that foundation. Now we’re ready to start building the house! And though the foundation is Absolutely necessary, the house is what we enjoy. With these advanced techniques, the program becomes delightful and fascinating! All the different levels of existence (Lokas) become accessible as the entire fabric of the universe integrates with your physiology, on all levels of your being. To say this is one thing; but to experience it is quite another. These techniques came about as the result of my own personal experience. I found them within myself. Intrigued by my experience, I consulted with Pandits and Vedic literature. It turns out that the translation of the literature is quite limited. The translator’s understanding is rarely by virtue of their own direct experience, but rather an attempt to figure out what the literature was trying to say. Trying to emulate an inaccurate interpretation is, to say the least, unnatural and ineffective. Because I spontaneously experienced these techniques for myself, I can teach them to you correctly. There is no attempt at interpretation. Rather, the literature was confirmation/validation of what I had already experienced. The techniques are unlimited, like medications in a pharmacy. As always, I will offer those techniques that will most rapidly facilitate your evolution. Initially, the advanced techniques will be taught to the ashram here at Mount Soma. Their experiences will determine how quickly I can roll out the techniques. The plan is to offer an Advanced Technique Course this summer. Details will be available soon. This is what my students have been waiting for! If you haven't yet learned the Surya Ram Meditation, you can learn it for free online: mountsoma.org/meditation/ (live link in bio). Join us if you can! (at Mount Soma)
~Love: The Gravitational Pull to Oneness~ Love is the essential underlying force of nature. Love is the natural gravitation of separateness back to Oneness. Hatred is identity with separation. Ultimately, love will always overcome hatred. Unity amidst diversity is the natural fulfillment of life.
Being human is special in itself, but you must commit to culturing your being in a way that brings forth your full potential.
What does it takes to be a true leader? * How much can you hold within yourself? A leader must hold a lot… within. * Can anyone know the deepest feelings and thoughts of another? * A leader walks with many by their side, yet walks alone. * You must learn to hold some things within yourself. Strive for no secrets, yet some things can just not be communicated. * Few can stand alone... with steadfast commitment against the winds of karma. * Most shut down without the shelter of others... or at least one other. * Few are true leaders. Few want to be. Most are content to tend to their own private lives and personal needs. * Few are willing to commit their lives to others... to a cause. * Nothing other than a life in all-out commitment to a noble cause makes any sense to a true leader.
Though we may all refer to it differently, everyone has some sense of universality. Some call it “morality,” others refer to it as “the family of humanity”. Some refer to that one thing that unifies us all as “God,” while others may think of it as the unified field. However we may think of it, we all share some sense of community or unification with humanity. Even though that sense is universal, clearly our understanding of it varies greatly. There doesn’t seem to be a single explanation or understanding that satisfies everyone... Similarly, until one’s physiology is fully awake (enlightened) to the unified field, pure Consciousness, universality of all that is, it is not fully understood. Its understanding lies beyond the grasp of any one perspective, paradigm, or belief system. (at Mount Soma)
The snow has just begun falling... a beautiful way to begin our Deep Dive Meditation Retreat here at Mount Soma. A blanket of crystalline snow will deepen the silence around us as we rest into the silence within. (at Mount Soma)
What personal changes have you seen come forth in 2016? What changes are you headed into in 2017?
There’s a natural flow to all of life that carries you to your Dharma, carries you to God, carries you to your Divinity. But if you cling to the rocks of identity, all that does is keep you from allowing the current of life to carry you to the goal. (at Mount Soma)
Don’t some things elude the grip of the scientific approach? Doesn’t the nectar of wisdom, intuition, and imagination require the awareness to be freed from stifling scientific reasoning? Imagine a level of life where insights and reflections unveil levels of truth beyond the grasp of the strictly rational mind. Aren’t the Seers, people of wisdom, who we all long to find and to become? Seers don’t follow any preconceived notions of where they should live, or how they should look, behave, or speak. As a result, Seers often go unrecognized as such, even if you should meet them. So the question is not, “Do they exist?”, but rather, “Are you able to recognize them?” To find wise, insightful, profound Seers in the world, perhaps we first need to find the Seer that dwells within all of us. The clear vision of that inner Seer is required in order to identify the Seers in this world. This article is not about ‘how to identify a Seer.’ Rather, it’s an invitation to embark upon the journey to see beyond your own limitations—those limitations that prevent you from knowing a Seer, even when you see one. From "Are All the Seers Gone, or Are We Simply Not Seeing Them?" published on @entrepreneur - http://www.entrepreneur.com/author/michael-mamas (Live link in bio) (at Mount Soma)
