Eternity has always believed in happy endings and magic and everything deemed impossible in her kingdom.

Since the day she was given unrestricted access to her Mother’s library; Eternity basked in fairytales, bathed in books, and built her own little world deep within the confines of her room. With bottles of crushed-glass fairy dust and tinted-water potions tilting her shelves with their weight, she finally decided that it was time to create her own story—one with all of the bright colors, tightly-wound couples, and villages bubbling with enchantments.

But oh, dear Eternity learned the hard way that a little more than imagination was needed to spring her fantasy to life. And her consistent, everyday royal studies made any ideas of that dreadfully unrealistic.

So she did what any other mortal would do in her situation: she dreamt. For hours, and hours, and hours. She dreamt of worn-over towns during sunset that only came alive at the deepest part of night; mountains with snow that tasted like sugar; crowds of people surrounding a fight between two otherworldly creatures; and caves with gemstones that could twist the past when connected.

One lovely night, Eternity’s dream felt impossibly real. The wide stretch of water beneath her knees was cold, and wisps of lavender-scented smoke filled the air as two midnight purple butterflies grazed past. The tips of her fingers skimmed one of their wings, and sparks skipped happily across her skin.

Sometimes, people get so swept away into their hope that it blurs the line between fact and fantasy. Our sweet Eternity hasn’t realized it yet, but her line has vanished entirely.

In the end, when she finally discovers that everything she has ever wished for was always waiting for her in a simple dream, her smile will be bright enough to rival the stars. Maybe all she did need was her imagination.

Even if she’ll be stuck for eternity.

Rough sketch of an OC inspired by a Wendigo

A common misconception about the Wendigo is that they have horns. That is a Wechuge. Wendigo's are human-like spirits that have a uncontrollable urge to feast on other humans.

Some reports say that Wendigo's tend to have sharp teeth, black or glowing yellow eyes, and hearts "made of ice".

I decided to draw fur on only specific parts, because witnesses have said they they've seen them both with and without fur.

Nearby approaches by this spirit are signified by a foul, rotting stench or unreasonable chill. Wendigo's are sometimes described more as a spirit than as a physical presence--said to possess humans.

This drawing is sort of plain, but I got the idea from a specific commenter who thought that my friend was wrong for using Wendigo's and Wechuge's as inspiration for an OC. Claiming it to be racist. I'm very petty, but that wasn't the only reason. I also really enjoyed researching and making this.

I wanted to create this drawing because I've been getting more into horror and creepypasta because of that same friend <3 thanks for this!
