Yesterday was surreal. It's a testament of what happens when we listen to that silent voice that is always guiding us in every moment, when we go against our normal ways of being and doing things and really share and risk our brilliance. I've been studying Dr Shefali's message for a couple of years now. Read her book The Conscious Parent (which I highly recommend to all parents and educators) and I would see her videos and Oprah sessions all the time. Her message really resonated, and was so in alignment with our message that I remember telling Joy I'm going to email her. What do I have to lose? And voila the rest is history. She loved our program and was so impressed. She kept saying, 'you're basically sending the parent and teen home with their own inner counselor through a fun game.' She said therapists look for things like this but it was never done before. Seeing her in person as we interviewed her was so refreshing. She's gorgeous inside out.. Eloquent and regal. But what really captivated me was her being. Her energy is amazing! We asked where does her source of inspiration come from and her response was amazing and couldn't agree more. People like us who thrive on service get their source of inspiration from the people we serve. From the teens we've laughed and cried with.. From the parents and teachers who've opened up to us. From the coaching client who risked today. This year has been challenging in many ways... We really missed being in front of the room, speaking and being in the trenches with the teens, parents, teachers.. We missed being with the people. There were many times I doubted how me being behind a laptop was making a difference. Now I know. And this is just the beginning. I get to trust and surrender to my Creator in every moment because I'm being lead at all times, and sometimes I won't understand why or how. But that's okay I don't need to understand. She offered the opportunity to speak at her seminar and share the stage with another hero of mine, which I'll share in due time. This is what happens when you risk and take new action. Risk your brilliance and take a new action! Be unreasonable. #dreamsarepromises
