Monica had found herself a date at work who was very similar to her. Her date's name was Seho. She introduced Seho to the others. Monica was happy to finally have found a date. Everything went well, but sometimes Seho could act like a jerk. He would comment on things, be a bit bitchy, and often get jealous. He became jealous when he saw Ross and Rachel together or when everyone else was being good friends. The others thought it was strange, but at the same time, Monica had a brother who was a bit like that, so she tolerated it. Even though Seho was a bit of a jerk, Monica thought he was also sweet. He always smiled at her and flirted with her at work, even though it could sometimes be a little exhausting.
She decided to ask Seho on a date, so she asked, "Hey Seho, would you like to go on a date with me?"
Seho replied, "I'd love to, I mean it. I'm hot, smart, funny... or maybe not funny, but yes, I'd love to go on a date."
Monica thought it was a bit of a strange response, but she was happy and told Rachel and Phoebe. They were happy for her. Monica said, "It's probably going to be okay, even though he's annoying. I feel like he can get better, I feel like deep down he's a good guy." Phoebe said, "Okay, good luck."
So she waited for him at Central Perk. Hours passed, so she went outside to look for him and then saw Seho crying all alone. She looked worried, sat next to him, and asked, "Hey Seho, what's wrong?" as she wiped his tears. It was difficult for Seho to find the words since he was so upset. Seho said, "My mom said awful things to me earlier. She hates me, she's always hated me. She's very critical and has never given me affection. She called me weak because I once tried to kill myself because of her. I have no one who is there for me, everyone hates me because of my own mother. I just want her to love me. She described me as a dog that needs affection, and no matter how much she hits me, I just want her to love me. That's what she says, and it was really hurtful. She can't believe I'm her son."
Monica looked at him with concern and sadness and said, "I understand how you feel. My mom can be critical too, but yours sounds even worse. Maybe you should talk to someone about it?"
But Seho said, "Don't worry about it, just pretend like nothing's wrong. But please, don't leave me like so many others have."
She said, "Okay... I promise I will never leave you." Then she said, "So yeah, you're not a jerk, it's your mom." She gave him a warm hug and said, "It's okay, I understand you," while Seho's tears kept flowing.
The next day, Monica was back at work. She talked to Rachel's ex boksu and his new girlfriend soo jong a bit about Rachel, then she heard from someone that Seho couldn't come. He had taken a break, and she became a little worried. Boksu said, "Finally, without that bossy jerk Seho," and Monica got irritated. She thought, "You guys don't understand how it is to walk in Seho's shoes," and said, "Hey, stop it. That's not funny!"
They were confused. Monica was so upset that no one understood Seho. When she got home, she saw Chandler sitting alone in the hallway. He had broken up with his girlfriend, so she sat next to him since she was upset about Seho. Chandler asked Monica if she was okay. Monica said, "Yes, it's just something I'm worried about." Chandler said, "Is it something about relationships? Because trust me, I get it." She said, "No, it's not that, well, sort of, but this is really serious." Chandler replied, "Can you tell me? You know you can trust me." Monica said, "Promise me you won't tell anyone because this is really serious, okay?" Chandler nodded.
Monica continued, "Chandler, Seho's mom is horrible to him. She abuses him, she's even hit him. Everyone hates Seho because of his mom. He's even tried to kill himself because of her. He's not really a jerk, it's his mom who's the problem. His mom made him cry yesterday. She called him weak." Chandler said, "Wow, that's sad. Shouldn't we call the police?" Monica replied, "The police wouldn't understand. They'd probably think he's just as bad as his mom. But when I think about it, maybe we should tell the others."
Rachel came in and saw that they looked upset. Monica told her what was going on, and Rachel felt so bad for Seho and couldn't stop thinking about it. Monica decided to tell the others as well. Everyone understood that all Seho needed was love.
