Final Title Sequence
Kiss Kiss Bang Bang Title Sequence
This is the title sequence for Kiss Kiss Bang Bang, this title sequence is gives away more about the film more obviously, more than some of the other title sequences that I have wrote about. For example in this title sequence there are lots of references towards sexy girls and guns which instantly gives you the idea that the film is a kind of thriller action film because those two things play massive parts in that kind of film. This title sequence is also quite urban with lots of fences and roads etc being show. This just help the audience build up an idea of the kind of film that it if going to be so that they would know weather they would want to watch it or not. There is a section in the title sequence that has lots of writing in the background which give of the impression that this film could include some sort of murder mystery within it.
Then colour in this title sequence are predominatly reds, blacks and off whites. The off white creates a kind of grimy/dirty feel to the title sequence. This makes gives off the impression that the film and maybe the character will be dirty/grimey people but maybe not in an unclean way because if you put together the idea of thrill and girls and guns there are many other ways of being dirty of grimy to do with killing and sex. The red colour indicated danger and death. This tells the audience that there is going to be lots of death but it also tells the audience that the man character is dangerous.
I think that the music works well in this title sequence, even though it isn't you classic dramatic sounds track it is still a fairly dramatic sound track and it is also kind of old school dramatic because it is very instrumental. The sounds song gets more dramatic as the title sequence goes along which I think is there to ease the viewer into the the film and the dramatic ness.

An Education Title Sequence Critique
I really like this title sequence for a few different reasons. Firstly i think that it flows really well together will all of the animated titles like how then went from a curved graph into a skipping rope, even though they didn't merge together they still flowed together smoothly because they are both the same shape and both not very movement in them. The shots also flow smoothly between the animated section and the actual video section. I think that this is because there is the title before it so you expect something to happen and then also because there is no sound on the clips and is it is slow-motion so there isn't to much stuff going on at once, like the animation. I also think that the reason that it flows so smoothly together is that the animation never actually leaves and always stays there even though its in the corners and background. I think the smoothness of the title sequence introduces the film and the main character because she is quite elegant.
I think that the sound track to this title sequence is very fitting to the title sequence but it is also fitting to the whole feel of the film and also the main character because it is happy and cheerful just like the main character. This means that the title sequence gets you in the right mood for the rest of the film and if you are feeling happy when you first start watching or when you first get introduced to the main character then you will initially start feeling that feeling for towards them. Its like your first impression of someone and as people say first impressions count. The song also helps the viewer get a sense of the time that the film is set in because the song is slightly old fashioned.

Title Sequences.
1. The length of the title sequence is very important because for one you don't want it to be so long that its boring but you don't want it to be to short so that it doesn't tell you enough about the program or film. Most film title sequences are around 2-3 minuets where as T.V. programs are more like 30 seconds to a minuet. This is for three reasons, one because film are longer any way. Two because most film title sequences are made to a song and most songs are around about that length, this is usually done so that then the company can sell the song and make more money. The third reason is that a film title sequence you only have to watch once so it can drag out a bit more where as you watch a T.V. program once a week or once a day so it has to not get boring.
2. You have to make sure that you titles fit in with either a widescreen T.V. or a standard T.V. because is you put a title outside of where a person watching a standard T.V. can see it then there no point it being there for them and there for no point the title sequence being there at all for them. So you need to put the titles inside a 4:3 screen size.
3. Title sequences haven't always been how they are now. They use to be just the title of the film shown rather than the whole section about it. Then in 1955 Saul Bass changed that, he realised that not only would it make it more interesting it would also be a great way to advertise and show off people like the actors and directors etc. His first proper title sequence was for a film called Man With The Golden Arm and this was a revolutionary piece of work and many people chose to do the same afterwords. This eventually developed into title sequences as you see them today.
True Blood Title Sequence Critique
I think that this title sequence is very well done and gives of the idea that they wanted to give off that was that this isn't just your average cheesy vampire program this is more about the town and all of the people not just the vampires. So in the title sequence it shows what looks more like a history of the town and the people as if it is documented but then is also has some subtle hints about vampires and blood. For example at 0.33 there is a boy eating a strawberry but his mouth is covered in reed stuff. This almost looks like dried blood and also subtly hints towards vampires because it is as if he is eating/drinking blood. There are also a few other subtly hints towards vampires like on a sight it says got hates fangs and there are lots of hints towards blood.
There is also lots of thinks about Christianity I think that this could be because of the typical way of fending of vampires with the cross and there is also a lot of links between christianity and vampires like the sacramental drinking of blood, everlasting life, and resurrection of the dead and all things that are to do with both Christianity and vampires.
I think that the song in this title sequence works very well because its about wanting to do bad things to you and a classic thing in lots of vampire programs and films is that a vampire and a human will fall in love and the vampire wants to do bad things to them/drink there blood but because there in love they don't but they still want to.
I think that this title sequence is very good because it tells enough about the program to make it look appealing and for the audience not to be disappointed when they watch it but they also keep a lot secret so it docent give the whole plot away.
Ident Treatment
I wasn't the tone of my ident to be simple but creative because i would like to think of my film as taking a simple idea and transforming them into a very interesting and creative piece of work.
I will draw the text myself in a sans serif bubble writing style font because i feel that the hand-written style font tells the audience a lot about how my films are, for example they are very low budget but still interesting.
I will do all of my graphic imagery myself because making my ident on after effects or a similar program would give of the wrong impression to the audience because i like to do my effects whilst I'm actually filming if any.
My text will be big and fill up most of the screen. The text will me mostly white but with the o of the dot in red for the obvious reason of it being red dot films.
My logo will work both in widescreen and in standard because it is a square logo so it will fit in both.
Equipment List
Camera - 2x600D
We will use these camera's because they are really easy and simple to use and also we have a range of different lenses and settings to create the old fashion look we are trying to achieve. For example we can shut the aperture right down so that the iris is really small. This will give a larger debt of field which will create a old film look after we have put it in black and white
Screen Recorder - Fraps
Fraps is a computer program that will record whatever i am using on my screen. We will use this so give examples of what to do over the narration.
Camera stabilisers - Tripod and Fig Rig
The tripod will be mainly used so that we can have slow old fashioned pans and also so that we can make the film look very simple and clean to avoid any confusions for the viewed when they are trying to lean about "Technicolour Yawn"
The fig rig will be used in any moving shots to maximise the stability and the maintain the simple clean look we are trying to create.
Editing - Flash Player/final cut
We will use flash to create the Technicolor yawn effect and also for the tutorial. Then we will edit the whole film together on final cut pro.
Lighting Equiptment - Led Film Lights
The lighting will be used to help us create our old fashioned look that we are trying to achieve. We will also use the lighting to make the film look studio like because that is what it will be.

The Jonny Cash Project.
This music video was made by thousands of different people from all over the world. People could just go on the internet and just download a frame and then in the style of rotoscoping you can draw on it what ever you want. Then upload it back to the internet and every image was put together to create this movie. I think that the outcome of this film was really interesting because there were so many different styles of drawings. I think that this works well with this film because all of the different styles together look old and worn. This fits in with the song because the song is an old Jonny cash song.
