Random thought, but the idea of Artemas getting notably more flustered around girls than Apollo is great. Gives him some of that signature Bernie Bear anxiety we know and love.
Actually, now that I think about it, how would Dimitri and Marianne go about telling the kids about the Agarthans? Not including Edel because from what you've said, it sounds like... well, she didn't.
It's not so much that she didn't tell Seigfried about them; Edelgard definitely alluded to them more than once and brought them up when he asked questions. But the more in-depth knowledge of the Agarthans he acquired came from Branwen and a bit of probing towards Hubert to get him to talk.
Edelgard just doesn't want Seigfried getting tangled up in their machinations. Not when 🪩The Disco Mole Men🪩 are so close to being eradicated.
As for Dimitri and Marianne...
💙House Blaiddyd (Dimimari Edition)🩵
If and when Dimitri got this information, either through Hapi or some "Hubert from beyond the grave" shenanigans like in VW, he and Marianne would sit the kids down and explain it to them in a way they could most likely understand.
That there are people who can disguise themselves as other people, people they trust or even strangers, and would try to persuade them to do bad things or hurt them. What would result from that is likely a kind of password between them.
For example, if Dimitri were to return from one of his jaunts outside and start acting a little different, they'd give the vocal password. If he doesn't respond correctly, the guards get called.
That, or self defense.
Being on the receiving end of the Blaiddyd or Beast crest would be a bad time for any evil mole man.
Here's the final third-in-command/ friendly opponent character's child unit:
Kypha Anne Fraldarius
Second Knight of Loog
"Though not as difficult as her father, Kypha has inherited Felix's... charm. She's aggressive and blunt, but efficient. If you need a job done quickly, I'd call her. Eshe tells me not to be abrasive with her - she's not as tough emotionally as she might like me to think." - Varvara
Likes: Flying, Freedom, Praise, Drinking, Singing
Dislikes: Singing in front of people, Criticism, Loneliness, Sword Training, Imperfection.
Tallents: Sword, Flying, Lance
Hidden Tallent: Reason
Bad At: Riding, Axe
Gameplay Notes: Kypha works best as a dark flyer, but could easily be any flying unit. She has high avoidance, so would be good at dodging as she does chip damage with magic or weapons.
Here is Kypha's pegasus: her name is Cynthia!
Though she hates being seen without makeup, occasionally this portrait would be used in supports where someone stumbles in on her room or there's a mixup or something. She's very insecure about many things, including her appearance.
Design Notes:
It was actually really difficult to design Kypha! I originally wanted to contrast Felix as a person, so made Kypha really bubbly and silly, but that just didn't feel right for her. Particularly with Felix's parenting style I pictured. A hands off, but strict approach would be unlikely to yield a daughter full of joy and whimsy. So I scrapped the whole thing, and tried again.
I love the cold Kypha who's emerged from the design process. She has a lot of dark flyer (the constance class) elements in the design as well.
Also whydoihavetopickaname did her portrait - I think it looks fab!
Naming choice:
Kypha as in the feminine of Kyphon Fraldarius (Loog's bestie), Anne because that was the only French feminine name that worked with Kypha (at least in our opinions)
Oh, yeah. Modern!Dion would absolutely buy designer shades, too. Because if he has to walk outside to be accosted by the sun, he might as well look good doing it.
(No glasses version below)
Note: It is extremely rare to see him without his veil/glasses when around people - inside or outside.
What are your thoughts on the three houses baby banner? Since we know what Edelgard and Dimitri looked like in the game, did Claude, Felix and Ingrid look like how you imagined them?
I actually really like these designs. It's like getting fullsized designs of what Fodlan children would wear, which definitely helps me with my character designs. The FEH artists cooked with these.
But, uh, where's Sylvain? Dedue???
I like that El gets her dagger, but I am curious why they gave Dimitri a rapier instead of a lance. Then again, he does know how to use a sword. He taught kids at the monastery before. Very cute, I like. Edelgard was definitely cold wearing Adrestian clothes in Faerghus.
Adorable and very cozy. This is exactly how I imagined he'd look! I did think his hair would be slightly longer, but with it short, it makes him look like a little bird. He already looks so serious, but his flavor text says his brother is still around.
Zdravstvuyte, Inga! She looks so cute like this. Honestly, what I'm learning from their outfits in Faerghus is the design of their clothes feels like it's supposed to be Russian inspired. They just remind me of those old pictures of little Russian kids wrapped in layers of furs lol
Such a scamp, this one! I love everything about this, and especially that bow of his. Somebody did their research. A recurve horse bow and he's a mounted unit? Well done. The little red braid sticking out of his headwrap to mimic his actual braid later gives such a good contrast to his sandy and olive colours!
man. inigo and roxanne are so shippable. roxanne as a mom for soleil also sounds interesting lol
Second generation ships? Hadn't really considered that, to be perfectly honest! I agree, they would be very cute together.
And honestly, the idea of Roxanne meeting a guy who could quite literally sweep her off her feet and eloping to another world with him is such an Aegir thing to do. Those hopeless romantics.
adia loves and hates her father... What a vibe lol
Yeah, Adia and Hubert have a complicated relationship. When she was younger he spent most of his time working - consolidating a continent wide imperial regime is a difficult task, and Edelgard needed his constant assistance as her hand in the shadows, not to mention the war against TWSTD. Adia looked up to him as her inspiration, and the lack of supervision meant that she got into documents and things that she ought not to have. Of course her mother was there (unless her mother was Edelgard, which will compound her problems) and her aunt (the sister in 3Hopes), but they all had busy lives too.
Most of the time she was able to spend with Hubert was when he took short breaks from roaming the continent, and taught her magic. He was always so proud of her - and felt the most comfortable to express his love - during those lessons, which motivated her to become more useful to the empire. He jokingly called her “my precious asset” once, and it never really left Adia’s mind. Hubert regrets that now. Adia mistook his pride and excitement over her magical growth as the reason she was loved, and began equating usefulness to the capacity to be cared for.
Hubert for his part deeply loves Adia, he viewed his work as important to creating a new order - one especially made for his daughter. He threw his affection for her into his work, determined that he should complete imperial power consolidation quickly so he could spend time with her. As the years passed on, Hubert never realised it was getting too late to do so.
Adia discovered her passion for Agarthan magic and technology, as well as fascinating biological experiments when she was young. Some of the documents she read talked about them and their help in the war. As she began helping her father, she became more intent on studying it. Paired with her desire to be an indispensable asset so she would be loved, she tried out minor experiments on herself.
It started off small, but grew until she tried the ritual mentioned in her character bio.
Hubert was appalled. The magic might spread, until it took all of her, or it could just stay as it was, still changing her mind and body to its whims. Hubert views her doing this as his single worst mistake. Letting his daughter experiment on herself is worse than letting Edelgard get taken by TWSTD, although both he deeply regrets. He now takes care of Adia on a regular basis, and employs others to assist him in continuing to help the Hresvelg’s with the Vestra's iron grip on Fodlan.
Adia flips between hating Hubert for letting this happen to her, to loving him for motivating her. She adores him and what he does for the empire, and despises how little time he used to spend with her. She's not really sure how she feels, and that is only muddied as she grows further and further from the woman she once was.
You mentioned in a previous Hubernie post that Artemas and Apollo would be jealous of Siegfried for a while after they found out that they weren't planned for. What would their dynamic with Siegfried be like during and after they get over their jealousy?
That's assuming they get over their jealousy at all.
The main reason for the Hubernie!Twins' jealousy in the first place is because of how much attention Seigfried gets from their family and especially their big sister.
Seigfried would have come earlier than them, and with Branwen already 5-6 years old, she would have begun her training as his vassal by the time they're born. Given her new responsibilities as not only the heiress to House Vestra but also the vassal of the new baby prince, she would have to divide her attention between her actual brothers and His Highness often.
That inevitability irritates the two early on in a very "but she's mine!" kind of way. Try thinking of it like how children argue over toys.
And their "unplanned = unwanted" rhetoric would only exacerbate their insecurity, becoming jealous of Seigfried who was planned for. Not only was Seig planned for, but since he was born premature and sickly, now all of Adrestia cared what was going on with him, taking Branwen and their parents' attention away from them. It wouldn't be true, exactly. Bernadetta and Hubert would likely try to reassure them that they are loved regardless of how they came into the world with varying degrees of success each time.
As they get older, around their default ages, Seigfried would likely know that the twins don't much care for him but do their duty anyway, apologizing for the way his unusual circumstances caused them so much sorrow. That alone could either soften them up to him or make them angrier.
Hubert, Branwen, and even Bernadetta would have put so much of themselves into the prince's care that him apologizing in his usual self-deprecating way would sound something like "all that time they spent on me was wasted effort" to their ears. On the flip side, it may make them like the guy a little more after they've given themselves time to heal. It wasn't Seig's fault he was born a little broken; he didn't ask to be made this way or be born before them.
If and when they got over their hurt feelings, they'd probably apologize to Seigfried (Artemas some time before Apollo and likely one on one) and try to make amends for their foul behaviour towards him. By the time they're grown up, it's likely they'll have already gone their separate ways or become really good friends with him.
Do you have any headcanons for what the countries outside of Fodlan are like?
Not really, but I can try to think of some. Sorry if they're not that in depth.
My biggest headcanon (which is probably just a fact, idk) is that the world of Fodlan and its surrounding countries are based on Eurasian empires of old.
Brigid
Since it's a tropical archipelago, I imagine it shares a lot of similarities with Hawaii or other small island nations with dense rainforests, clear oceans, and sandy beaches. With the weather probably being warmer there, their clothes are light and airy to allow for ease of movement and cooling off. Shrines to nature spirits are commonplace, found atop large boulders or wrapped around trees to appease them.
I also headcanon that the bones of one or two of the children of the goddess can be found here, mostly buried by the earth after the long passage of time. Skulls and rib cages can be seen jutting out of hillsides or underwater reefs.
Almyra
Based almost entirely on the Persian empire and Middle Eastern territories, which isn't much of a headcanon as it is a fact. I think there has to be part of Almyra that is lush with pine trees, wide rivers and/or lakes closer to the mountainous border separating it from Leicester. There's likely a city similar to Babylon somewhere eastward with something reminiscent of the hanging gardens.
I headcanon that matchmaking culture is really common here, and marrying someone not of Almyra would make you a social pariah. This only relaxed from bring taboo after Tiana became queen, and even then it is still a bit unusual.
Sreng
Similar to Mongolia and Northeast China in that it's mostly flatlands but also hosts a variety of scenic mountains. I think that the basic template for the in-game Swordmaster and Mortal Savant classes may have originated from here.
I also headcanon Charon or an earlier relative of his may have originally been from the northernmost part of Faerghus - or perhaps Sreng itself - and traveled southward, eventually leading him to be in contact with Nemesis.
Morfis
The City of Illusions, I headcanon, is home to very distant descendants of the children of the goddess who left Fodlan to live elsewhere. Their draconic traits have been diluted so much that it's almost impossible to tell that they have that heritage at all. I believe that the sheer abundance of magic they use there has basically seeped into the earth itself, allowing for a wide range of elemental magics to be practiced - and maybe for it to effect the biology of the people living there, resulting the creation of legends about magical creatures.
I also think that the basic template for Dancers originated here as well.
Albinea
Basically the FE3H equivalent of Greenland. Don't really know much about Albinea, but I imagine a lot of what makes it special is what's hidden under all that ice. Since the Rhodos Coast - where Seteth's wife is buried - is so close to the place, I wonder if more descendants of the children of the goddess emigrated there to live in isolation away from the human threat.
I headcanon the place is basically a giant wildlife preserve with hardly any human or humanoid activity. Also, it has a non-zero chance of having its own mythological creatures living there.
Duscur
Firmly believe Duscur has a North-Northeast African style. According to Dedue, Duscur had many towns that specialized in one trade each. So, if he was the son of a blacksmith, I headcanon that he was from a smithing town right on the other side of the Sacred Gwenhwyvar Mountains that separate the region from the rest of Faerghus. The reason I think so is because since his community worked with metals, they would want to stay as close to the metal deposits as they could. Gold and metal accessories were probably more common in that town than the others for that reason, which explains why Dedue has his gold earring - and why Kleiman wanted the region so badly.
I also headcanon that some people of Duscur escaped across the sea to the continent right above them which could be similar to Iceland in its terrain.
AAA Freya poor baby! Arundel scaring her so much makes so much sense. I really want second cousin Sigfreid to just stand in front of her all protective and make sure that TWSTD leaves both him and her alone for good! Honestly I imagine Sigfreid and Freya's dynamic is so big brother little sister coded - despite her being the physically stronger of the two (with the Blaiddyd crest) he gets to be the scary big brother who protects her. Dimtiri needs to adopt that little wet cat boi.
Nooo wait can you imagine Dimitri adopting Sigfried (who I guess has traveled from another universe?) and not-quite getting the whole ghosts and weird vibes thing. Eventually Dimitri chalks it up to a similar psychotic disorder to his own ghosts and weird vibes thing, and is just such a sensitive and caring step-dad/uncle/dad/carer (however sigfreid would want to refer to him). Does he get it? no not really. but dang he's still trying! Byleth from the AM universe instantly clocks it, and tries to help in a much more successful but far more clinical way. Freya is just along for the ride, and super happy to get another sibling.
This references this post I made a while ago! Sorry for the late response -> Link
💙House Blaiddyd (feat. Seigfried von Hresvelg)❤️🩹
Honestly loving how often I'm getting "jumped through time/in a different dimension" prompts for Seigfried specifically. It just fits him so well. And on that note, I'm not going to do the FEH route for cross-route shenanigans this time. It's been a while since I've done a genuine time warp.
So, let's isekai Seigfried to a world where he shouldn't exist - the AM route.
🩸An Eagle Among Lions🦁🐱
The world of Azure Moon is somewhat different from that of Crimson Flower. Archbishop Rhea would still be alive after handing over her position to Byleth, what remained of the Goddess' children would still be alive, and the King of Faerghus would be seated at the helm of a Fodlan united under a blue banner instead of red.
More importantly, Edelgard and the Empire she had dreamed of building would not exist as it does in his world. Here, his mother is dead, his friends and confidants were never born, and his position as Imperial Prince of Adrestia is rendered defunct. Where Seigfried himself shouldn't exist and yet does.
Having the mediating factor of Freya around would make it much easier to navigate this world without losing his mind over the loss. He'd soften to her relatively quickly, especially since she has a very gentle way about her and doesn't shy away from physical reassurance. Her presence would make meeting Dimitri for the first time easier. To suddenly appear in this place and be face to face with the Tempest King - who has been long dead with Seig being told stories about how crazy and driven by revenge he was in his last years alive - would be disorienting.
I like to think that Seigfried would be a good 'son' to him; they'd get on pretty well once they crossed over the initial hurdle to their relationship being his relation to Edelgard. He wouldn't feel too comfortable calling Dimitri his father, but would likely call him either by his name or, with time, 'uncle'. In private, he would call him uncle more often. Looking after Seig would also be a form of healing for Dimitri. This is his nephew, Edelgard's son, and though Edelgard herself is gone, he can still do right by her boy from a world where she isn't.
Seig's connection with Freya would also be very comfortable with him spending a lot of time around her just to be able to sleep properly at night. In return for her gentle care, he would look after her when she trains and goes exploring places further away from the palace. Having a cousin/older brother figure to be by her side and willing to help her grow out of her protective shell would improve her shyness and develop her conquer her fears. And in case she doesn't conquer them all, she has someone other than her father to turn to.
Seigfried may be sickly, but he still packs a punch.
With the presence of the children of the goddess still very much in the world, and Archbishop Byleth still having their connection to Sothis, I think Seig's visions wouldn't be as intense. Or, they could just clear themselves up much, much more than they do in his default world. In fact, he may even awaken his blood a lot more as well, gradually healing from his defects. The visions would probably lead him to journey to Zanado and the Monastery often, bringing him into close contact with Byleth and Rhea. That conversation is sure to be mind-blowing.
since we are talking about arundel, what would soraya think of him both in a GD timeline(where he somehow manages to avoid shambhala's distruction) and the non GD ones?
🌙Soraya von Riegan
👁️🗨️"Volkhard von Arundel"
Relationship Status: 💔🖤(Distrust; morbid curiosity)
"You know, they write stories about men like him. Those with many faces that delight in causing chaos, tearing child from mother, and packed with enough hubris to make even the greatest of devils blush. It must feel good, thinking you can bring even the gods to their knees without consequence. Or, at least, I imagine it would if he'd actually succeeded. Oh well."
(Soraya would be curious about the methods by which the Agarthans can change their shape and influence people so easily. But for as far as her curiosity would take her, she would never go as far as someone like Branwen who introduces aspects of their technology and magic into her regular life. That's bad vibes and will attract trouble she would not be sure enough she can handle.)
Ok, so, we've reached the first of the characters who could either have been Silver Snow or Crimson Flower. I'm not entirely sure how to structure this as a result. I think I'll go for the first section being the Crimson Flower lore (which will start with their title in red), and the second section being the Silver Snow lore (which will start with their title in purple). I hope that works.
Lowena von Aegir
Voice of Opposition
"Lowena is a secretive woman. Rarely seen outside of the Aegir residence, I hear she takes a unique interest in how the poetry of 'Jule' performs. Despite her Aegir blood she is unlikely to become the Prime Minister, with her father - Ferdinand - having maintained that position. He is less... radical than his daughter. At least in public." - Wilhelm von Hresvelg
Dislikes: Those who harm others, observation, the empire.
Lowena is a contentions figure among the nobility of Adrestia. Her wicked wit and mastery of poetics made her a difficult opponent in a debate, and she had very dangerous opinions on the war and the expansion of the empire. She used to be a lot more opinionated before the Vestras cracked down on the rising noble opposition. Now she is the model servant of the imperial regime.
The poet 'Jule', however, is another story. Their poetry is as brutal as it is brilliant. Its supporters are the outcast and downtrodden of imperial society, and the criticisms their poetry levied at the dictatorial regime have given words to the lower classes and disgruntled nobles. The whole regime, but in particular the Vestras have been hunting for them for some time. Of course, if anyone were to suggest that 'Jule' was Lowena, Ferdinand would laugh, and change the topic expertly.
Lowena von Aegir
Noble Poet
Though she has dabbled in writing for the opera - Lowena's main artistic drive is poetry. Under the pen-name 'Jule' - inspired by the twin jewels of the empire her father claimed to have once been part of - she has published lots of thought provoking poetry on crests and the class systems. She longs to be part of the change she advocates for, and as a result has requested to be voted in to the position of advisor to the archbishop.
Gameplay: Lowena would be a classic lance unit. Simple, easy. She could, via her hidden talent, be changed into a hard hitting healer class. Perhaps a war cleric or something like that. Honestly I haven't thought that much about it.
Design notes:
Lowena's design shows her nobility through ruffles and layered fabrics, but deliberately has no filigree, because on Ferdinand that is golden. Brass-y gold seems to be the main metal colour of the empire, and so I chose to avoid it when designing Lowena. Because either she is a supporter of Byleth in Silver Snow, or a dissenter in the regime of Crimson Flower, she refuses to wear gold.
She also has mostly hidden armour, the Ferdinand greaves are under her long pleated skirt - the pleats allow her to move if required, whilst maintaining a pencil shape. This is to give off the image of benign compliance, whilst being ready to fight or run when she needs to. Or to give off the image of peace-time whilst being ready to defend the people of Fodlan. Honestly it's quite hard to design characters with two separate environments and plot lines, but I'm having fun.
Also the neck and shoulder armour is adapted from the Fates Great Knight armour. The earrings have Ferdinand's little Cravat pin, as well as another earring design in 3Houses.
iif dedue was dion's dad, would that make all his hair one color?? Bc white hair + white streak is just basically a full head of white, isn't it? Or would the streak be a slightly different shade of white that's hard to make out lol
Interestingly, Dedue's hair isn't actually white. It is a couple shades darker than Lysithea's, leaving it more like a silvery colour.
Considering Dion's skin would be darker in this scenario, being half Duscur(ian?), it would be a lot more noticeable than if his skin was still his default pale.
