I am always amused when I hear people talk about Benedict Cumberbatch making Sherlock Holmes sexy.
Let me explain you a thing.
I am not kidding when I say that young Sherlock Holmes was one of my first crushes.
And this fellow right here?
You look me in the eye and tell me that Brett didn’t bring the sexy to Sherlock Holmes.
What I am trying to say is…
Sherlock Holmes is a sexy character. You can even change his name and he is still pretty.
So, yes, Benedict is a pretty gentleman in Sherlock, but he certainly wasn’t the first–nor will he be the last– to bring a little sexy to the role. Sherlock Holmes is a sexy character, no matter the packaging.
Must be the deductions. ;)
apparently people think Young Sherlock Holmes was “sexy” #themoreyouknow #middsherlock

An author has drawn remarkable parallels between Sir Arthur Conan Doyle's teacher in Edinburgh who killed his wife, and the case solved by the fictional detective in 'The Study In Scarlet'.
Sherlock may not have been real, but the murders were #middsherlock
As the most famous Englishman of the 19th century is honoured at the Museum of London, let's not pretend he's a fictional character
“Some obstinately cling to the idea that he is a fictional character created by Arthur Conan Doyle. This is a far-fetched theory...”
Sir Arthur Conan Doyle’s fictional detective with the knack for solving crimes through observation and reason was modeled after Dr. Joseph B...
Was Sherlock real? #middsherlock
We say that the Sherlock fandom today is a bit insane but when Arthur Conan Doyle got tired of writing about Sherlock and killed him off over 20,000 readers canceled their subscriptions to “The Strand” which was where Sherlock Holmes was published and loads of young men and women took to the streets wearing funeral clothes like black armbands and veils some readers even sent death threats to Doyle complaining about his sudden death.
Kind of makes your “I believe in Sherlock Holmes” campaign look a bit sad now doesn’t it.

"Sentiment is a chemical defect found in the losing side," Sherlock Holmes said to Tumblr.

Oh god… No this isn’t right.
