IMPORTANT 

Seeing all these Jax and Gooseworx discussions, and the claim that Goose said Jax is her self-insert, I was reminded of a video from a few months ago which I feel is very crucial for the discourse because it gives insight into how attached she is to Jax. There is a deleted tweet which lowkey fully supports that Jax is in fact a self-insert and is partially a reflection of Gooseworx, and most importantly explains why Jax got that ending

Please watch the video because it really explains it. The idea of Jax being her self-insert really explains why the finale was like this. You will also see the same deleted tweet where Gooseworx actually lowkey spoiled the ending for Jax, which was surprising in relation to her trauma, which gave me a sense of déjà vu seeing it in the movie. Isn’t this your trauma, Goose?

She basically vented her trauma in the finale through Jax without us even realizing it. This also reveals how attached she is to Jax, to the point that she may not realize how much she enables him because she sees herself in him and doesn’t know how to detach from him, which eventually affected how the finale played out and why

I was already familiar with the concept of Jax being a self-insert for Gooseworx. It is one of the reasons why people are largely uncomfortable with Jax's character and Goose by extension, because of the rampant misogyny present in the character and the creator. They are interchangeable at this point, and given where Jax's character ends up...

Well I'll never stop saying it's pathetic. The show is so focused on how Jax is a bad person, with enough self awareness to elaborate on why he's bad, but still lacking an ounce of respect for his many...

And honestly, how much more media do we need of abusers begging for someone to care about how they abuse people? Especially when that abuse crosses into territory that they really have no business speaking on, like the racism. Abuse that's no longer personal to their own shortcomings and is a part of a larger system of discrimination that they still benefit from actively. That's not a conversation to be had in a 9 episode youtube series and yet...white audacity prevails.

Ribbits character is kinda insane. She escapes a heavily racist and misogynistic religion only to be driven to suicide ( or like?? Turned into a decorative pet in a fish tank ) by a man. Oh but we can't be mad at the man! Because he's sad :(

It’s incredibly sad when ex religious non men characters are punished by the narrative…seemingly for escaping the religion.

We have no other information regarding how Ribbit got there, but we know that her running away from Mormonism is what set her down that path. What does that say to people wanting to escape religion but fearing the repercussions? Coupled with the disturbing abstraction/suicide metaphor…there’s some pretty dark religious undertones to this whole series.

We can’t even assume that she’s alive and well because we don’t know the fates of the real Ribbit (and Kaufmo). They were never shown.

If it’s something confirmed outside of the show then we’ll know Gooseworx didn’t put any thought into the matter.

No because the way Jax treated Ribbit was insane!!! Imagine being Ribbit! Imagine running away from your abusive Mormon parents, and that being your WORST regret. Imagine being trapped in the circus and making friends, and then Jax joins and you being the friendly person you are, work to make them feel included and welcomed. You share an intimate moment and assure them that their (far worse) regret isn’t that big of a deal, and then they proceed to make it their life’s mission to isolate you from your friends, turn everyone against you, and gaslight you into thinking you’re crazy ?? For caring ?? For noticing something is wrong ?? For wanting what you had before ??

Until you’re a hollowed shell of a person begging them to stop; begging for forgiveness and redemption to the point you don’t even know what that means anymore. In just a few days, one man reduces you down to nothing. To that small part of yourself that the very religion you escaped from tried to control. Falling back into old rhythms you’d never thought you’d have to use again because you finally thought you were free.

But you were never free.

You abstract. You die alone. Abandoned. Used.

And no one knows what happens to you. Ragatha suspected, she always did, and he SHOT her for it. And Pomni…tells no one. Because it was never about Ribbit. It was always about Jax.

They were distant, cheeky, & mysterious until the leaks, during the leaks were distant but honest.

Also I don't know if gooseworx counts as a woman, since they go by they/them pronouns. I figured people here would consider that.

I may not mind it, but I'm pretty sure those who fully befit the beliefs of Tumblr definitely would care.

@gooseworx I have a few words of advice for you.

1. Don't let the toxic behavior you have bared witness to completely deject you. Take your distance if need be, but art & animation are still worth it. Watch from a distance before deciding to approach to avoid internet borne entitlement.

2. Avoid Twitter if you can, that place is a cesspool.

3. You don't need a studio to make a show, just look at Joel Guerra Castio & how things worked out with his webseries.

4. Last but not least, ditch glitch studios & their Australian gov money. You deserve better than them. If somehow you can't do things on your own, nor can you form your own studio, perhaps seek the help of those who know to only get commissioned by the distant armaments of the state rather than accept a large sum from them directly; someone like BobbyPills, who knows how to keep their indie roots intact even when working on an Amazon Prime show.
