Navigator, mathematician, European. A man of strange faith. If you must play him at cards, insist on your own deck.

"Miss" Mary Aldridge (The Whistling Brute) - profile

PIckpocket, rabble-rouser, poisoner. Jolly and terrifying. Hunting a very large bat.

I was messing with some rough designs for a potential Correspondence tattoo and I need Flumblr to know that the official sigil for “"The revelation that uncertainty is itself an answer" is basically a little guy shrugging. It’s basically a Judgement being like “Idk man ¯\_(ツ)_/¯”

Also shoutout to the one for “An old orbit, fondly remembered”, which at least to me looks like an exclamatory symbol interlaid with an orbit and a little guy swinging his arms. “Yup that’s my orbit! What a nice orbit that was :)”

okay, so, before the update, biting mr fires looked like this;

with the shadowy check increasing proportional to your repeat dentistry quality- IE; the more you bit mr fires, the harder this check became, until you literally couldn't succeed at it anymore. this screenshot was taken at the exact point i hit 0%.

but. post update. the option has changed. it now looks like this.

a neon future concept: the collective of london survivors being referred to as victorian vampires

the whole vampirism deal doesn't even need to be an actual Thing. the very concept of there being immortals from the victorian/edwardian era seals the deal, these peeps are being called vampires purely for gothic cultural background reasons. neathy skills even fit the cultural developments the vampire trope underwent (le olde superpowers), and every single one of these long-lasting individuals must be proficient in some sort of peak neathy bullshit or another to even reach that far. which is quite something to the average normal citizen, ergo. victorian vampires

im not maintagging this because fuck that noise but there's a weird amount of people in the official fallen london discord server who HATE the youthful naturalist and it's. really annoying, actually. like everytime his storyline is mentioned people come out of the woodwork to say he's insufferable and evolution is his weird self-insert fic (real quote) and it's like man. im swear i don't have anything against you as a person but i violently disagree with your media analysis to the point where i want to hit you with a chair.

"he's a judgemental self-centered freeloader" he's a runaway academic who's literally destined to die and lose his sense of identity and personhood forever. he has pretty obviously strong opinions on the worth of life and whether or not someone is wasting theirs because he's physically incapable of living his own. there are people in the official discord server who are FURIOUS at him eating their tinned eels and asking for 60 echoes worth of supplies to further his literal life-saving immortality research and it's like. he's literally just a little guy. he's literally funny. there is nothing the youthful naturalist has done that the FLPC hasn't. genuinely, sincerely, with all of my heart, i think you're just bad at reading

he's such a funny dude, is the thing. he says he'll pay for sneaking onto your ship before immediately dropping less than five cents into your palm. he's hilarious. i can forgive literally all instances of him being slightly dickish because he's funny. and he's in so much pain. and he's still funny. evolution is really good when you don't have someone making half-assed bad faith interpretations in your ear

All existing journal content is preserved, and you can still browse your journal by date, or in chronological order. In addition, from today:

There’s now a separate Journal view within the game itself,

You access this from the Myself tab, using the Open Journal button. The button is by your mantlepiece/the existing ‘View Profile’ button.,

You can assign tags to journal entries, and browse your journal by tag.,

You can feature the contents of a tag on your profile, rather than just a single entry. These appear at the top of the journal on your profile.,

Have fun playing with this new feature! We hope it helps you keep track of your experience in Fallen London, and enables you to reminisce over all of the bad decisions you’ve made.

Oh. Oh, he loves her. The Fathomking. He loves his Bride so much. Oh, it's so much sweeter than I thought. The way he talks about her, the warmth and the gentleness, and the boiling wrath beneath it where he's livid at what has been done to her.

He's so romantic. He's an undead, capricious, shape-twisted, drowned man, and his love is a gargantuan, memory-spined, enraged star-horror hanging in the deeps, forbidden to love him back, and he loves her anyway. Deeply and truly and gently and passionately and angrily. He loves her. He's livid on her behalf. He throws whole festivals to give her some light, some visitors, some devotees, some hope.

They're so romantic. In that particularly Fallen London/Sunless Sea sort of way where they're capricious watery eldritch horrors, but they're so sweet.

Oh Salt. Oh, I love them. Oh, it's so sweet. Oh, it's fantastic. I love this festival so much.
