Hundred Waters | Show Me Love | The Moon Rang Like a Bell | 2014
I’m sitting alone in my new apartment, listening to the rainfalll, and enjoying today’s release of Hundred Waters’ brand new album, The Moon Rang Like a Bell. Absolutely perfect listening for this moment.
I hands down recommend purchasing this record. The emotion and soul that resonates from every track makes for a spellbinding experience, especially during the very first track "Show Me Love." I'm already predicting this as one of the best albums of the year.
Don't let me show cruelty
Though I may make mistakes
Don't let me show ugliness
Though I know I can hate
And don't let me show evil
Though it might be all I take.
Don't let me think weakly
Though I know that I can break
Keep me away from apathy
While I'm still awake
And don't let me think too long
Of the one I'm about to face.

I continue to come across articles about HAIM and how 2013 was their year… Blah Blah, this rise to fame talk and how they started one of the most influential movements by women in music is disappointing. I dig HAIM, I get it, and I know they have talent both on their record and on stage, but the music they deliver is just catchy pop. There has been a myriad of female acts over the years that started this so called “movement” and continue to deliver outstanding work, paving the way for young female artists.
Warpaint has been one of those female bands shadowed by HAIM’s success, and while I can list countless others, it’s Warpaint’s dark but beautifully blooming sound that has had me hooked since The Fool was released three years ago (when I had “Shadows” on repeat for months).
The band consists of childhood friends Theresa Wayman, Emily Kokal and Jenny Lee Lindberg alongside drummer Stella Mozgawa.
Warpaint is sure to kick HAIM’s rise to fame ass next year with the release of their self-titled sophomore album, to be released January 17th.

"Our battered suitcases were piled on the sidewalk again; we had longer ways to go. But no matter, the road is life."
Just this past April, I embarked on a month long journey along the West Coast with just my backpack in tow. Having recently quit my full-time job and with some cashola saved up, I decided it was time to get the hell outta the city and into the towering mountains, ocean breeze and beaming sunshine. The experience, while often exhausting, was unreal. I've done the whole backpacking through Europe adventure, but I've never rambled through Amurrica, and who knew this country could be as beautiful and unbelievable to see.

"Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things you didn't do than by the ones you did do. So throw off the bowlines, sail away from the safe harbor. Catch the trade winds in your sails. Explore. Dream. Discover."
