Papa Roach - Last Resort 2000
"Last Resort" is a song by American rockband Papa Roach. The song first appeared on the soundtrack to the 2000 film Ready to Rumble and appeared on Papa Roach's second studio album, Infest, shortly after. Following its release, "Last Resort" topped the US Billboard Modern Rock Tracks chart for seven weeks and reached number 57 on the Billboard Hot 100. Worldwide, it became a top-10 hit in Austria, the Dominican Republic, Germany, Portugal, and the UK. "Last Resort" is considered to have defined nu metal in the 2000s and is considered by many to be among the genre's greatest tracks. It has since become a popular internet meme. Among the first of these memes was the altered lyric, "Cut my life into pizza / This is my plastic fork." In 2018, the band ran a line of T-shirts bearing reference to this meme, accompanied by an image of a pizza. The song was certified 6× Platinum by the RIAA on December 6, 2024.
"Last Resort" is about a person’s thoughts of committing suicide. In an interview with Songfacts, Papa Roach member Tobin Esperance spoke about the song and its lyrics, saying: "I think the lyrics had a lot to do with it. Because originally the song was about a friend of ours that we grew up with, and he was going through a rough time in his life. And there was that suicide element to it, just like growing up and the struggles of life and questioning whether or not you want to keep going on, and I think a lot of people connected with that. For the kids who had also gone through those kinds of feelings, those kinds of emotions, the lyrics really helped connect with that song."
"Last Resort" received a total of 80,6% yes votes! Previous Papa Roach polls: #339 "Getting Away with Murder".

The only goat tower in the United States.
Built with 5,000 bricks and 276 spiral steps, the Tower of Baa-Goat in rural Illinois was created by Dave and Marcia Johnson as a climbing tower for their goats.
The 31-foot brick structure lets the animals climb, rest, and reach small compartments inside the tower.
It was inspired by a goat tower the couple saw in a wine magazine — and became one of the strangest animal-centered structures in the country.
