listen the world is a miracle and sometimes you get desensitised to the wonder of it all. sunlight passes through leaves and they light up the brightest green. flowers exist in so many colours. dogs wag their tails. cats stretch out in the sunlight. sunrise and sunset make the sky glow. water reflects light. trees sprout new green buds. the air is alive when the wind blows. rain covers the world in tiny diamonds. the world can be beautiful too.

I still think about the conversation I had with a Christian counsellor last year. She told me that going through disappointments while believing in God, is something like waiting hard for your airplane to land while you are unaware that maybe there's turbulence, weather problems, or another airplane is taking off late at your destination.

i sometimes forget that this is everyone’s first time on earth too. like. this is my first time seeing a butterfly this color. but its that little girl’s first time seeing any butterfly, ever. and i accidentally left a bag of groceries at the store after paying and now i’m cursing under my breath and it’s like. there a thousand other people out there who did that today too. and a thousand more from yesterday. and. like. we’re not actually alone. and we’re not actually failing. at least not in a way that a few billion people haven’t before you
I'm not worried about my birthday this time. Mom, I have finally changed.
