Grasshopper is a graphical algorithm editor integrated with Rhinoceros 3D. With a simple and intuitive interface, Grasshopper makes possible, on a simple and creative way, to generate advanced 3D shapes. Perfect creative tool for explorers, Grasshopper makes possible to explore new shapes, structures, and textures for a diversity of fields from architecture to product design. The aim of this project was the approach of the generative design applicated to ceramics exploring variations of shapes and textures from the same algorithm.

A few thoughts about Society6 

Last week on a Society6 group on facebook, I’ve come across with a question that I believe, from times to times, many of us ask to ourselves: Is it possible to get a regular and significant income from S6?

So, I have good news and bad news for you! Is it possible to get a regular and significant income from S6 and similar places? Yes it is but it’s not easy!

Let’s start from the beginning. First of all you guys must understand the business model behind Society6. It is called “long tail” and it basically means that there are best sellers, that represents in the best of the odds 20% of all sales that society6 makes, and the rest of us, bloody mortals making a sale from times to times (Note, individually this seems irrelevant, but, for S6, it is a bunch of money).

You must understand also, that there are a bunch of people selling on S6 and that is very difficult to stand out from the crowd! Best sellers on S6 basically are well known illustrators and artists that already have a name in the market and are not depending on S6. This leads us to a typical mistake committed by all of us. Most people promote their work on S6 and for S6 community. However the big majority of S6 community are sellers that want to sale their products too and not buy. Note! I’m not saying that promoting your work on S6 it’s not important, it is, what i’m saying is that you must target you audience outside of society6 too. 

One last note! Do not feel bad if you are not getting a lot of sales, if you are making 20$ a week, well, taking in account what I just said, you are already doing well!
