Blurr also entering the Decepticon base as a spy and meeting Bumblebee (he knows it's him because he was the bot in charge of seeing him out of the Autobot base post-reframing) and then being like "B-127?! You're alive?!"
And Bee's like, "Agent Blurr? What are you doing here?! Wait, 'you're alive'?! Why would I not be?!" Because how could Agent Blurr say such a ridiculous thing, as if the Autobot base didn't cut him off first and refused to make contact with him again.
Little drabble under cut! CW for vague robot gore
With the addition of Shockwave's POV.
Blurr just looks at him in the same way he used to do back at Bootcamp when he told him he wanted to be in the Elite Guard, like he's dumb and something to be pitied.
Then he says "We all thought you were offlined when you stopped answering your device! We had to send so many others and none of them came back, so they sent me."
Which is weird, because Bumblebee hasn't seen a single other Autobot soy since being stranded. Not that he bothered to look for them anymore, anyway. Regardless, before he can answer Blurr is already scurrying off at the familiar sound of heavy pedes coming their way, and when Bumblebee turns back around to try and see the direction he ran off to, there isn't a single hint of ugly blue left.
He doesn't see him again at all during the rest of the cycle, and maybe he's more spacey than usual, but it's how it goes sometimes. It doesn't really matter, Agent Blurr may be a smartaft with an inflated ego but he lives up to his name, he'll be fine. Goldbug didn't want to see that ugly optic-grating shade of blue anytime soon so it was better for him.
The next time he sees him he can barely recognize the blue among all the sticky, bright, sickening pink that drips from his figure. He can't figure out where his optics— or even his faceplates, he can barely tell apart his servos from his pedes— are among the horrifying excuse for a block in front of him.
He couldn't have brought himself to look at Shockwave if he had tried, even if it would only take the smallest turn of his helm to make optic contact with him. It never got easier to be slapped with the reality of who he's stuck with. It doesnt matter! He came here for a reason and he won't be made to turn around just because some elusive bot thought they could outsmart the Decepticon's greatest scientist.

His sire's voice box had never wavered while delivering a mission report to Lord Megatron before; not because his Lord didn't intimidate him— he really did. Goldbug confessed he didn't bother trying to strain his neck cables in order to talk to him anymore because of how much his pedes trembled when he did— but because his Sire just... Was like that. It was something to be admired, as everything about him was.
He was left to wonder, then, why he had to reset his vocalizer twice already. He would've loved to smash the mech into pieces again if it meant his sire's shoulder plates would stop trembling. Such a mediocre excuse for an spy shouldn't have such an effect on Goldbug, didn't he know that Shockwave would keep the Decepticons afloat as long as he lived?
Hi! Some Shockson drabbles I've had collecting dust for a while will be posted shortly. Sadly I haven't gotten back my inspiration about this au but regardless. Here's the first one! After the cut ^-^
Blurr is the one designated to go fetch Private B-127. It's a short walk from Lieutenant Longarm's office to the troops' berthchambers, sure, but it annoys him either way. It's not like they're understaffed and he has nothing better to do, with the war in such high flames; and he may respect the Lieutenant for all he's worth, but it truly feels like he's some sort of secretary or— Primus forbid— an errand bot!
He came here because B-127's scheduled tasks imply he must be hard at work mopping the floors of this entire section, but it takes the bumbling bot three whole calls of his designation before coming out of stasis. When he does, it's with a startled look in his optics as he gasps and falls all over the cold, unmopped floor— Blurr can't stop himself from feeling a sense of peace at such things.
"B-127, Lieutenant Longarm is calling for you." Blurr doesn't bother to wait for the mech to even unglue himself from the x axis as he walks away. But Blurr is good at his job, and Bumblebee isn't, which is why he still manages to hear him call Blurr a smart aft and proclaiming his undying hatred.
When Bumblebee gets to Longarm's office, he's loudly against going on that mission, everyone in a 7 mile radius can attest to that, but Longarm ends up convincing him anyway. Apparently.
("We can't afford to have any soldiers doing nothing right now, we need all hands on deck or at home as civilians. Listen, Bumblebee, I'm sticking out my neck plating for you, all I'm asking is for you to cooperate."
Blurr is going to go up the ranks as fast as he can so he never has to deal with Longarm again.)
