Average Saitama main quest vs random Genos side quest
Average Saitama subplot: Here I'm walking while I'm bored
Average Genos subplot:
I just need a quiet place where I can scream how I love you
Con el ojo entreabierto y el cerebro medio apagado xq tengo sueño pero pude tomarme un momentito en dibujar algo entre comisiones wujuju Ahora si ya me voy a dormir wn me cago de sueño zzzzzzzzzzz
Say what you want about people who are only in the fandom rn because of Saigenos; Saigenos is practically 50% of the fandom. Do you understand what losing 50% would cause ? A massive gay fan : dudebro fan imbalance. Do you know what a massive gay fan : dudebro fan imbalance would cause ? Oh the horrors.. you don't even want to know..
Therefore, you and me
Saitama 51
And if you think Saitama and Genos are not codependent on eachother, that its only Genos then idk
Don't you know? Only in the manga is Saitama codependent on Genos. Saitama in the real story, the webcomic story is purely tolerant of Genos.
The manga is sunshine and rainbows with Saitama and Genos (at the moment) and then in the webcomic its all bleak and dreary for Genos fr 😭
So much sunshine... the bald guy is insane with conditions not describable by the DSM V and keeps himself from destroying existence itself by clinging onto a badly-damaged young man with a death wish.
So, so wholesome.
I can't tell if we are joking on the same vibe or if we being serious on this topic right now but i wanted to talk about it anyways so.
Obviously this is not a wholesome story. Saitama is depressed, canonically, hes aimless in life and feels numb to so many things since gaining his immeasurable 'power'.
I feel like once he started to live with Genos things got better. He has someone to confide in, to talk to and spend him his time with. He made so many new friend/s as well as being praised for his hobby despite saying he didn't do it for the thanks which, hm. I bet its still a very nice feeling for him because although he said that, he talked down about himself asking whether or not his actions have made any real impact which?? Dude?? Your actions birthed the hero association which has helped so many people in the long run and you have saved countless lives.
You got Genos who has been on a rampage since 15yo with a 99%/100% body modification rate (which is outrageously dangerous and taxing on the body as stated by the other cyborg) with complex feelings towards the one other person he admires since he wants to be as strong as him but feels as if he's losing focus on avenging his loved ones cause of the time hes spent learning, in his opinion, nothing. Genos is modified and continues to be much more modified every arc by Kuseno in hopes of more strength while Saitama just puts his suit in the wash and watches telly.
Saitama and Genos are one in the same in the sense of,
Saitama wanted strength, worked for it, got it and then was lost because he had it.
Genos wants strength, works for it, can't get it and is lost because he doesn't have it.
And they both want to attain smt that I think we can all agree they may never have by the end of the series.
They don't find strength within each other, they find themselves and are drowning holding on.
Many a true word is said in jest, as the saying goes. So we''re joking but also not.
So, seriously, the only 100% cyborg we know is the Mad Cyborg. It is proud to tell us that it has no biomatter at all. And gosh, is it not human.
Was thinking a lot about what Saitama brings to Genos, and it's this: he's given him a lifeline. Genos had accepted that he wasn't going to live long enough to grow up. As long as he took the viliest enemy out with him, that was okay. When he saw Saitama's crazy strength, he dared to dream that he might learn that power and be strong enough to not just win, but live.
And I love how he's slowly started to explore what that means. Watching him start to care more about his clothing and experiment with it in the manga, a pursuit that's nothing to do with his mission but everything with thriving as a human being, that's wonderful. Without Saitama, he wouldn't even dream of such fripperies.
The cyborg wants to live.
so I got into grad school today with my shitty 2.8 gpa and the moral of the story is reblog those good luck posts for the love of god
okay so i just got my dream job??? a week after applying to it?? and now i’m thinking….maybe this is the good luck post
…..not even six hours later i got an offer of a well paying full time long-term job with free room and board in queens in nyc, allowing me independence and a way to escape an abusive situation and an unhealthy environment
likes charge reblogs cast, folks, this is the good luck post
i need all the help i can get for finals
Hey so
the last time I reblogged this post right before I got a great job, in a permanent work-from-home position, with benefits, retirement, and a salary literally 3x what I was making before, doing something I really like.
So you know.
This might be the real one, y’all.
I could use some luck
There's going to be another mass desertion of this fandom when we inevitably reach the point of the arc where the people who are only here for the gay subtext have to confront the fact that Saitama and Genos have an incredibly unhealthy relationship and cannot come to function as a duo without first separating in what will most assuredly be a horrifically scarring destruction of perceived trust and boundaries.
Hoo boy, you're just bouncing Apollo's ball here, aren't you?
Waiter waiter! More saigenos codependency please!!
I will change for you
