He doesn't get hung up in memories often. His memory tends to be a little flaky sometimes anyway- a curse, he thinks, but also a blessing. But it's easy to get lost in memories sometimes.

And to get angry, however briefly, at a world that forced him into failure at every corner.

I got to thinking earlier about how Misfire's legacy is having accidentally killed his squad with a railgun... and how he was handed this extremely loud heavy weapon that vibrates heavily while being fired, and it's entirely possible if he was handed that weapon by a higher up, they knew he had sensory issues.

He was a fuck-up that never fucked up enough to do something about... but putting him in a situation where his fuck-up would be impossible to ignore?

Anyway what I'm saying is that it's entirely possible that a higher rank Con could have set him up for failure just to get him out of the way.

(Like I've been thinking all afternoon that he seriously dealt with a lot of bullshit being punished for his inability to focus or concentrate and his lack of follow-through. And I think a lot of that was hidden from Megatron, because I doubt he'd have approved.)

This is so important actually.

Megatron genuinely cares about his people.

Misfire's whole relationship with Grimlock is really special, actually. Because Misfire knows what it's like to be treated as less than a person for things you can't control. To be abused because you don't act like how people think you should act.

He looked at Grimlock and didn't see a problem; he saw a person. And it's exactly what he's wanted for himself. To be a person.

And I'm mad the comics treated so much of what the Scavengers did as comic relief because yes, while their antics were funny, they genuinely cared about one another, and they may have had their squabbles, but they also were well aware that everyone saw every last one of them as less than, and all they had was each other.

And Misfire saw Grimlock as a friend, in the middle of all that.

The Scavengers are the best damn family and them's facts.
