                         Lips turned up into a hint of a smile when their hands are intertwined. “I’m not that weird.” A smile stays on the tribrid’s face as she gently swings their hands.

walls  come  crashing  around  them.     there’s   no  pretense  about  being  tough  in  a  vulnerable  situation.  she  lets  hope  get  it  out  with  snark  or  judgment.    and  when  the  other  girl  claims  her  lips  ,   she  melts.  these  are  the  moments  she  understands.       when  the  weight  of  the  world  becomes  too  much.     the  anxiety  closing  in  and  the  gasping  for  air.      “  come  on.  ”      her  voice  is  gentle  as  she  pulls  away.  thumb  clearing  the  very  last  tear  from  hope’s  cheek.      “  the  best  cure  for  any  breakdown  is  an  ice  cream  sundae.  and  we  could  both  use  the  sugar  rush. ”

                        Ice cream always seemed to help, it was a go to for when Hope was having a particularly rough day. A hand moved up to wipe at her eyes and she allowed Lizzie to wipe the tears away. She gave a short not, glimpse of a small appearing on her feature’s, silencing the sobs that still threatened to fall from her lips. A hand ran through her hair to make herself look a bit more presentable before she “I’d like that.”

the  lie  was  trying  to  tell  herself  she  hadn’t  expected  this  to  happen.  hope’s  temper  wasn’t  something  to  be  taken  lightly.  it  raged  and  burned  same  as  her  own.  but  worse.      “  yeah  but  not  so  you  could  go  all  van  helsing  on  him !  ”      her  steps  are  guarded.  approaching  her  girlfriend  with  caution.  not  in  fear  ,      but  giving  her  enough  room  to  move  away  if  touch  is  unwanted.      “  can  you  please  just  hear  me  out ?  ”

                        “You should have known this would happen.” He came back and for what he’d done to Lizzie, well someone had to pay. “He HURT you, Lizzie.”That wasn’t okay, she thought Landon would have been the one who needed help with him and all a long it was someone who meant so much more to her. She doesn’t move, not in the slightest, allowing her to step to her. “What is there to hear out?” Her eyes close and she lets a soft sigh escape her lips. “Okay, fine, I’m listening.”

she  tells  herself  she’s  not  going  to  cry.  it’s  a  small  ,  nothing  day.  because  with  everything  else  going  on…  having  the  big  party  just  didn’t  feel  right.  but  hope  makes  it  special.  she  tucks  them  away  from  the  world  and  for  the  first  time  in  days  ,  lizzie  feels  like  she  can  breathe.  at  least  until  the  necklace  is  presented  to  her.      “  i  thought  we  agreed  no  gifts.  just  like  valentine’s  day.  ”      but  fingers  reach  forward  to  trace  the  heart  ,  smile  turning  up  the  corners  of  her  lips.      “  it’s  beautiful.  ”
