Demonaz album analyzed
Behemoth live in Portland Oregon at the Hawthorne Theater. I drank incredibly too much for this show and was puking by the end of the night. I am pretty sure I broke my pinky finger in the mosh pit ha ha but it was still totally worth it. Thank you Jenny Stinson for capturing this footage while I was being a drunken fool
From the moment we are born there is a force of willpower that drives us to live. With our first breath in this world we are left to our own devices to choose a path. Good and evil are two concepts so vague that they become lost in translation thus i have decided to consider the two as brain and brawn. Whether you are a brain or a brawn the common tendency is to ridicule the other side. however, no matter what side of the coin you are on the typical notion is that the opposite has more power than you. So ultimately we are left with one question. What is the fulcrom of power? Brain's for the most part are driven by the fault of guilt so they give themselves mentally to a deity of power. This deity chooses fate and so any and all things are not of the subjects own devices but of His grand scheme. Brawns are typically driven by selfish pleasure. Natures reward for doing something. Guilt is a concept of brain and thus must be disregarded. A lyrical exerpt from this album makes a perfect example of this. 'The core principle of freedom is the only notion to obey' As self aware human beings capable of forming a thought, we must take into consideration what side of the coin we are opperating on. With that knowlege we can begin to understand and hold ourselves accountable to a formula of science. with every action there is an equal and opposite reaction. Opposite because We deem it right to follow our path and wrong to fall into the others. Equal because both sides from our first breath share the willpower to live. -Michael Tomlin
We came for our beloved ALESTORM and partied our asses off. We stayed for Turisas at Paganfest 3 2012. Thanks Danny Dumbass, Patrick the Pirate, Luke, Megan, Jenny, And Happy Birthday Caite. Glad we all had so much fun.
My latest Benchmade Bali-Song video featuring Travis Cagle in White as the Knife Slinging Stranger, Mike Tomlin in the Black as the Drunken Sherriff and Jenny Stinson as the Widow. This is Stone Cold Metal in the Great Northwest. Howl of a coyote wakes up a man, A haggard shadow in this wasted land. Vultures rise with the scorching sun. A dry wind blows in a silent town. Some Whiskey to clear his head And some for the brothers who are dead. Another day, another chase, Vigilantes will meet their fate. Saddle your steed We are riding tonight Be ready to kill Don't flee from a fight. Pillaging is in our blood, We bow to no one and no one at all! Stone cold metal in his hand, Stirs wild rival of righteous man. Life of an outlaw; the gallows await. Until then they shall reign! No border is too sacred To cross and to spill the cup of hatred. Days to come are still unveiled, Take whats yours, no time to bewail! Waning daylight, time to move on Under a looming crescent moon. Another town, again to raze, Surely someone will pass deaths gate.
I analyze and interpret the theme of Amon Amarths Surtur Rising album. There is a fear of the unknown. A negative presumption of the future personified by our thoughts distorted with emotions. Our ability to form a thought causes us to ponder notions of right or wrong. But, are our thoughts lying to us? Consider our sense of entitlement, the gears of willpower driving us to achieve our goals. As the momentum of success builds it becomes easier to push through the barriers that get in our way. These barriers are often labeled as demons because of their ability to slow us down. Pushing through these demons without considering right or wrong can easily leave a trail of destuction in its wake. Sometimes we justify our actions by telling ourselves that we are driven by a higher power such as religion, instinct or unknown forces that can be exploited selfishly to serve our sense of entitlement. At what point have we gone too far ? When men become gods? When do we ever look into the mirrior, that barrier between you and a demon and ask how much power do we weild? What damage are we capable of? This album, Surture Rising in many ways yeilds a response to all these questions. Translated through lore the legend of Surtur the destoyer and creator of all things we see how for some with the swing of his sword means an end. A fear of the unknown future which includes atonement and a clean slate to start over facing our ultimate fear...accepting change.-Michael Tomlin
I analyze and interpret Cannibal Corpse and their new album Torture in about 1 minute. This album is not for those of us blessed with faint hearts and charmed lives. There is a mask of normality in the realm of heavy metal. Behind it breaths a breed of songs twisted with demented pornography and psychopathic murder. This album serves as a link connecting our dark curiosities to the morbid mind of a serial killer. With descriptions graphic enough to paint a mental image of bodies on meat hooks, skulls in buckets, human vivisection, dismemberment and streams of blood spiraling down a drain on the floor. To see through the eyes of a sexualy driven lunatic hell bent on defiling lives and treating what remains as trophies in his collection of body parts. This album is Cannibal Corpses new Torture. -Michael Tomlin
A brief representation of my metal show.
I analyze and interpret Wintersun and their self titled album in about 1 minute. Wintersuns self titled album is a spiritual journey that I have put a lot of thought into. When negetive energy surrounds your life time becomes your worst enemy. You endure each day waiting for a glimpse of light to wash away the darkness. Song by song this albums takes you through what can be felt during the dark times of loneliness and sadness in our lives. Musically this album provides a combination of sounds that will descend to soul. Uncovering and shedding light onto our inner workings. The connection of energy of the mind connected to the energy of the body, Jari's guitar solo's and lyrics position us in presence to higher learning and higher knowledge. Times encumbering weight will drag you deeper into darkness but inevitably finds your escape through the bounds of regret and bitter self anguish. Let this album serve as a guide in search to be seen again and bask in the warm sun out there in what can be a cold world. -Michael Tomlin
I analyze and interpret Eluveitie and their new album Helvetios. This is my 2nd attempt and you can see im beginning to get the hang of this. Thank you Jenny Stinson for standing out in the cold rain with me while I attempted this.

Flogging Molly Live at the Roseland Theater. Though its not metal, this was a fantastic concert. A side note to the guy who stole the drum stick from my girlfriend at the end of the show: You fought for and earned your wussy trophy. You know who you are.
This is front row footage of Andrew W.K. live in Portland Oregon. I captured the essence of the word PARTY in this episode of MIKES METAL SHOW \m/
(Inis Mona-Keelhauled-Pokemon) Mike Tomlin and Jenny Stinson take a road trip to Seattle for the mighty Megadeth and Motorhead concert Feb-21-12. \m/ This is our adventure.
