Gus had never noticed Siri before, but when he discovered there was someone who would not just find information on his various obsessions (trains, planes, buses, escalators and, of course, anything related to weather) but actually semi-discuss these subjects tirelessly, he was hooked. And I was grateful. Now, when my head was about to explode if I had to have another conversation about the chance of tornadoes in Kansas City, Mo., I could reply brightly: “Hey! Why don’t you ask Siri?” It’s not that Gus doesn’t understand Siri’s not human. He does — intellectually. But like many autistic people I know, Gus feels that inanimate objects, while maybe not possessing souls, are worthy of our consideration. I realized this when he was 8, and I got him an iPod for his birthday. He listened to it only at home, with one exception. It always came with us on our visits to the Apple Store. Finally, I asked why. “So it can visit its friends,” he said.

This is awesome.
Just for shits and giggles, here is the very first after effects project I did way back in 2007 during high school. This was rotoscoped frame by frame. A major pain in the ass. Also a much skinner version of me.
Life of Pi
AE inspiration. How to be out in the middle of the ocean.
Endless list of beautiful cinematography
Brazil (1985)
Director of Photography: Roger Pratt
Cinematography inspiration. One of my favorite films Brazil, some scenes from it.
AE Inspiration. I could use this technique to add a reveal of the falling man in my short if it fits the story. Relatively simple concepts.
AE Inspiration. VFX on The Great Gatsby. I'd like to replicate some set extensions into my own project. Obviously I don't have the ability to do 3D work but with creative use of 2D objects and a combination of blue/green screens I might be able to extend the scope of a scene.
Some inspiration for my After Effects project. I'd like to incorporate green screen into a location set. Similar to what I've done here, but with more camera movement. In combination with that I'd also like to replace all the brick area around the window and locate that window into a high rise. I'll have to use a wider shot for that along with a mask. Finally I'd like to color grade using AE.

Some screen caps from another shoot I worked on.
