Boba Fett

I don't have the largest interest in Star Wars, however, my family is very into it so I've experienced a large chunk of the media associated with it. I generally like the look of Star Wars' Mandolorians so I was really excited when I found this image!

my rendition:

12x16" canvas; oil paints

personal critiques:

my rendition's helmet could have been wider to better fit the set of his shoulders

sizing of canvas could have been picked out better since it kind of messed up the proportions of my work

I feel like I could've adjusted the background colors to be a bit paler

I really like my rendition of the cape/shoulder. I think that turned out well

Describe The End Of The World

author's notes:

This was a rant essay written for class. The prompt was to describe the end of the world and I ended up spiraling through my hatred of AI. None of this was edited and it was written to be read like a train of thought. Some ideas overlap or simply do not flow together at all. It's purposeful.

Girl With The Ribbons

personal critiques:

her face lost a bit of the youthfulness that was in the original image (I made her face more slender)

the addition of the red ribbon is one that I really liked (I love adding details in a bright cad red)

I feel like the shadows in the face could have been darker to add more of a contrast. they also could have curved more to give a rounder look compared to the gaunt/hollower look my rendition ended up with

I actually really like this painting though so my critiques are more nitpicks than anything

Hawkgirl/Kendra Saunders

their artwork is incredible and I simply had to take a stab at their rendition of hawkgirl

personal critiques:

my version feels less expressive, almost as if she's less angry

the colors in mine are significantly more muted though that might be due to the medium chosen

I wonder if there's a way to reproduce the same intensity of digital art colors in oil paints
