UNNECESSARY KWAZII LORE UPDATE!!!
So I updated my Kwazii’s family tree. Most of these characters and designs are entirely irrelevant and were made for funsies.
●●●●● Warning! There is some mentions of death and violence in this post! Please proceed with caution! ●●●●●
So on the updated lore, we starting chronological with bullet points for the most efficient way through this
-> Calico Jack (aged 20 years), meets Anne Bonny and Mary Read (aged 19 and 20). The three fo them pull together a new crew aboard The Ranger. This polycule begins as a healthy relationship, but will spiral into CJ being excluded from any romantic affection down the line. As of then, these three are a 'happy family'.
-> Bonny (21) has her first son William, Read (22) has her son Virgil. These are the eldest of the Rackham line's second generation. William is the eldest of the two.
-> Bonny (23) has her second litter consisting of Catalina, Noemi and Francis. Read (24) has her final son, Harrison. Cracks begin to show in the relationship between Read and Bonny with CJ. Read and Bonny grow closer together during this time.
-> Bonny (26) has her third litter consisting of Caesar and August. By now any love in the relationship has fizzled out. They stay together aboard The Ranger for simplicity's sake. Calico Jack is more 'friends' with Bonny and Read. He takes a step back when it comes to the children, only acting as an enforcer and protector (playing into his lion genetics) while the pair of women take charge.
-> Seeds of distrust sre sown in the family. Read figures that it would be easier to raise the children they have to be replacements for CJ, as it would be easier to influence your children to do your bidding than a man who hardly cares about anything anymore. Virgil is chosen by Read and Bonny to be their 'chosen heir', and is raised with that in mind. However, Calico Jack prefers William to be his replacement, as William already shows more promise than Virgil.
-> Virgil and William begin to grow distant, eventually becoming rivals aboard The Ranger. Most the siblings stay neutral on the matter, but feel more obligated to listen to their mothers than their father.
-> Following a series of unfortunate events and poor decisions, Bonny (36) has her final daughter, Elizabeth. Care for Elizabeth falls onto the eldest children, as Bonny wants nothing to do with this daughter. Elizabeth bonds more with her brother William than with her actual parents.
-> it is to be noted that during this time, pressure from the world modernizing begins to be felt. The Ranger is having a harder time making ends meet, and modern ships and technology begin posing a problem.
-> William (18) meets Louise Cartier (19), daughter of famed Charlemagne the Extravagant of The Dionysus. William convinces Louise to run away with him, and she does. They marry shortly after. Bonny is displeased with this development, as marrying the daughter of an enemy after 'kidnapping' her is generally not a good idea. Both Louise and William could care less about this, and continue being happily married.
-> Virgil (23) meets and marries Catherine Callahan (20). Read is pleased with the development.
-> Virgil (24) and Catherine (21) have their first and only litter, Anita and Dante.
-> William (25) and Louise (26) have their only surviving son, Constantine, later nicknamed Kwazii.
-> The Incident occurs. The Ranger is successfully captured and boarded by the British Royal Navy in the Caribbean. All members of the crew besides Kwazii are captured and sentenced to death for the crimes of piracy. There are few survivors.
- Kwazii Rackham (7), was hidden away inside a crate in the cargo hold of the Ranger.
- Calico Jack (54), escaped last minute following pirate branding. Slipped free in the time between the branding and hanging.
- Elizabeth Rackham (17), fought her way out during branding. Saw her fsther escaping without her (Calico Jack checked nearby cells prior to leaving, had assumed he was the last to go). She was the last on death row.
- Anne Bonny (53) and Mary Read (54) made deals to help locate other crews in exchange for their lives.
-> Calico Jack commandeers The Ranger with Kwazii still aboard and flees. Elizabeth stows away on a merchant ship. It is to be noted that following the incident, Calico Jack is determined to become a better figure in Kwazii's life. He makes active steps to be more involved in his life, and to be a better person.
-> Elizabeth ends up in northern Europe and makes a name for herself up there. Meanwhile, Calico and Kwazii are barely surviving in the Caribbean and along South American coasts.
-> Calico Jack (64) fakes his death to give Kwazii (17) the chance to start anew. Kwazii was left in a port town and survived doing odd jobs and side gigs for local fisherman. He carried the pirate culture with him. Calico Jack ended up in the Amazon having successfully faked his death following a dramatic chase.
-> Kwazii (20) is picked up by Professor Inkling, who had needed assistance with loading cargo aboard the first Octopod. Kwazii was hired so that Captain Barnacles wouldn't be doing all the work by himself. Over that afternoon, Barnacles and Kwazii bonded. Kwazii was invited to stay aboard, and became the fourth official member of the cotinauts behind Barnacles, Inkling and Tweak.
-> Kwazii (22) is appointed lieutenant of the Octonauts.
-> Kwazii (28) and Calico Jack (75) reunite.
That so far is the complete timeline of that entire family tree. But we also have some minor extra pieces and lore for the side folks.
Captain Elizabeth 'Fangs'
Having denounced the Rackham name, Fangs has made a name for herself starting in the Mediterranean. Eventually, she returned to the waters of her childhood, the Caribbean. She captains a small buy loyal crew of castaway and misfits on her ship, The Wind Breaker. Her husband, Nikoli Vindel, is a softer, quieter artistic man. He is Fangs' only portrait painter, and he is devoted to her and her only. She repays him kindly with affections and by buying him new paints. Together they've had two daughters, Delilah and Lilian, and one son, 'Mercury'. If Fangs were to see Calico Jack again, she would be anything but happy.
Captain Charlemagne the Extravagant
This sphinx is still very much alive, but prefers to spend most his days chasing the next adrenaline high. In his youth, he used to host the wildest, rowdiest parties the seas have e'er did saw. The Dionysus was never lacking on the finest food, wine and company this side of the Atlantic. The hierarchy of his ship consists of only Charlemagne at the top and his pack of loyal dogs right beneath him. The crew has never needed to pillage for survival, as they ride off the wealth that Charlemagne's noble origins carried in. The only occasions they do anything pirate activity is out of pure boredom or for the sport of it. Still doesn't stop the Dionysus from being one of the wealthiest crews there is.
As Kwazii's maternal grandfather, Charlemagne has no clue about Kwazii or the fate of his daughter, Louise. As much of an 'oops baby' as she was, he at least cared about her enough to keep her isolated from every potential danger. Still didn't stop her from falling in love, though.
-> It is to be noted that Calico Jack and Charlemagne have had numerous run-ins in the past, most ending quite violently.. except one singular one-off instance in their 20s.
Thank you so much for reading! As per usual, all my lovely mutuals!
