Twice the man you’d need if you said you needed more, fighter man, if you asked for strength. I’d punch these knuckles into chalk and blood and paint you an apology with the soft pastel of my rage, watch it darken as it dried.

Half the man you’d need if you said you needed less, give you a black hole of some imploded star if you made two hints about needing space, peaceful man, if you asked for tenderness, turn this cheek and offer you that one, then back until I was the sunset purple of bruises before healing.
