Dahyun Choi had come from a moderately humble middle class family as the only daughter. Her father a regular office worker while her mother was a stay at home mother, she was raised to become the perfect daughter that would make her family proud. Perfect grades, perfect mannerisms---she was practically following a path with little no to no flaws to the point where she was accepted to many renowned high schools in Korea such as Whimoon High School. This, unfortunately, took a turn the moment she showed interest in becoming an idol.
Secretly, her soul had a passion for singing & performing, as well as playing the guitar. One summer day, she gathered the courage to express this to her parents, & at first, they heavily disagreed. Dahyun had promised to make sure they would make them proud, though, telling them that she would make sure she would do everything in her power to become the greatest idol they had ever seen. & thus given this once chance, after stumbling across a company that was holding auditions for a new & upcoming girl group, she was then accepted as a member of the Sunlight Sisters. Giving herself a stage name, as recommended by producers to do so, she decided to go with Celine from there on forth. What she was not prepared, however, was the fact that this came with becoming something else as well: a hunter.
Idol on stage, hunter behind the scenes---it certainly was a job not for the faint of heart.
A few years would go by & they would soon become one of Korea's most iconic & only girl groups. At their peak, however, tragedy struck. One of their members, Mi-Yeong, had given birth to a child, but not just any child, a half-demon child. Soon after she would then lose Mi-Yeong, whom she carried deep feelings for, causing her to destroy her as a whole. After much contemplation, out of desperation, she decided to take the child into her care at the cost of cutting ties with her family (who harshly disagreed with her decision in taking in another's child) & losing contact of everyone altogether. & thus, at the age of 23, she took Rumi in & became her legal guardian.
Decades would be spent alone with the child now called Rumi until she formed her own group as well: HUNTR/X. Training done under her care, she created an empire for Rumi & the girls to be a part of, making sure they didn't have to go through the harsh expectations & realities of being an idol in Korea. With the girls now secured, she moved her residence back to Jejudo & isolated herself up until recently when Rumi confronted her with her patterns showing.
After receiving a wake up call through Rumi's visit, she began to deeply doubt everything she was told & taught, & ultimately she decided to slowly change things for herself: starting off by mending bonds with Rumi & moving forth with changing her ways of teaching & herself even.
