@misha-chichirkin - I’ve already written a paragraph about Misha’s art in their asks before but omg I could gush about their art FOREVERRRR. Whenever I see their art I am in disbelief of how perfect their style is. It’s so unique and full of personality, the line work really impresses me!! No idea how they do it. It’s crazy how their designs fit the characters perfectly yet are unlike any others I’ve seen before. They really got me into the world of lotf fanart before I even started posting.

@rambling-rodentia - YOU. I love your art so much!! The way Jules draws all the boys is so amazing, their big eyes have so much childlike wonder. I am also very biased because he has my favorite Piggy design. I DON’T KNOW WHY but he is just perfect to me it’s exactly how I view Piggy and it makes me so very happy! I really love your style and how you draw the 3 blind mice especially.

@cabvbhigmzlvcq - Lovely LOVELY art!! The coloring and textures are spectacular. There’s so much detail to her art and every piece is SO SO beautiful! It’s like every piece is traditionally painted. Both her designs and coloring are so unique and they blend perfectly together! My favorite part of art is coloring and I really look up to Cab’s style :)

@cutie-with-a-conch - UGHHHH you’re art is pure joy. I was SO SO happy when I first stumbled upon Amia’s account because I don’t see as much colorful LOTF fanart. I love their full artwork pieces, like in their sanrio x lotf series! The backgrounds along with the characters go together so well they’re all so stunning. I absolutely adore all the rainbow colored rendering she does especially with hair! Just very amazing art.. I am the target audience..

But whenever there's a win, like with the SCREEN act getting shot down, other things, etc, there's a lot of "don't get too comfortable" and "we still have a lot of work to do and look at all the bad stuff ahead," and while yeah.. true.. there's also a lot of exhausted people. Visibly exhausted from the work. Having these victories are so, so, so energizing and congratulating yourself and allowing yourself to feel unbridled joy at felling a giant or a small enemy is so important for staying in the game. Don't admonish yourself, give yourself momentum. Let joy restore and energize you, don't dampen it with fear. It's your green light to be bolder and to go after the rest with more vigor because you have more on your side now. We often spend months raising alarms for dangerous things and we should give ourselves equal joy in overcoming them.

unfortunately, kosa has passed through the senate committee markup. however, this is not the end.

i know a lot of people are going to hear the words "it passed through the senate" (as i've already heard it phrased in news articles, unfortunately) and panic. however, it has just passed through one step. this was not a full vote. this was a markup to get it out of committee. the full process it has to go through goes:

senate markup/committee -> senate floor -> house committee -> house floor -> president -> made into law.

its the same for bills that were introduced within the house, except it goes house -> senate instead of senate -> house.

on a bit of a happier note, the screen act failed to advance out of committee!

call your senators and representatives, email, fax, anything. tell them to oppose kosa, the kids act, the screen act, and more!

pardon the goat for reusing art but this has been on my mind for a while and the art is relevant-ish!!

one thing i dont see people talk about as often in regards to piggy is the fact he’s the ONLY one who openly sees the littluns as people in the novel. like goodness i love simon to death but he never stood up for the littluns. the other boys openly dismiss, mock, and hurt the youngest among them. during assemblies, they speak over the littluns when they try to speak. but not piggy. when the littluns are scared to speak, or are being spoken over, he’s the first one to call it out, the first to scold the other biguns, the first to give the littluns a voice when their own fails them. in chapter 10, after the feast and simon’s death, ralph asks if anyone is around. while ralph dismisses the littluns and says they don’t count, piggy still bothers to mention them.

it could simply just be that piggy is respecting the rules of the conch, but i also like to think that piggy, for all his social ineptitude, understands what its like to be cast aside or unheard because he’s experienced it longer than these littluns have, and he doesn’t want them to feel the same way he has. piggy has a certain integrity and sense of justice that focuses a lot on fairness for the ones who aren’t cared about as much. and i really love that about him, because he really is more than just the symbolism of logic.

sorry if my sentences sort of run together im in school writing this and i just need to get the thought out of my brain… u understand what im trying to say though right
