If nina had not quit the show, I have to believe we would have gotten to see Caroline take center stage in the Originals. It feels like they were setting it up to give fans the klaroline they had been begging for until they needed that character to center the main show (although Bonnie could have taken that role).

It drives me crazy when people say that she and klaus are the toxic relationship. Stefan basically treats her like shit their entire relationship, shes so obviously his conciliation prize its not even attempted to be hidden.

Its amazing the parallels and missed opportunities just from a story perspective. So much more interesting than the elena salvatore love triangle.
If you have to speculate if someone loves you and wants to be with you, chances are they don’t. It’s not that complicated. Love, in most cases, betrays the one feeling it.
I cannot believe the writers had this story and that chemistry and decided that four more seasons of salavatore love triangle was better television . Like his transition from villain to antihero because of his connection to Caroline would have been far more interesting especially in the originals than the crao we got.

Maybe one day someone can edit the entire series to make it palatable. Because if they had kept this pairing I think it would have had a different energy
So they make a big deal in season 2-3 of vampire diaries of saying that nothing could kill klaus and that he was truly immortal. Why would they do that if he has the same weaknesses that his siblings have? Like he even says that nothing can kill him now after the ritual.
We only got two short seasons of this pairing but it imprinted on us. Such a perfect pair.
I’m sure it was an accident with how badly they screwed it up but this shows just how perfect Caroline snd Klaus were for each other. Both felt unwanted, both spent their lives searching for someone to choose them, to see who they really were beyond the surface. And ultimately they gave the other what they needed.. if only it could have ended better
