The Triwizard Tournament was a magical contest held between the three largest wizarding schools of Europe: Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry, Durmstrang Institute, and Beauxbatons Academy of Magic, each school being represented by one Champion. Now, in the year 2000, the Tournament has been renewed with the help of Harry Potter himself. It has also expanded to all Wizarding schools.
This year, Hogwarts will host and welcome: Ilvermorny and Uagadou.
To remain impartial, the champions are chosen by the Goblet of Fire. They compete for the honour and glory of winning the Tournament, for the Triwizard Cup, and a monetary prize. However, there are many new restrictions – one that remains since 1994, in which, no student under the age of seventeen are allowed to apply.
Selected Champions compete in three tasks — traditionally judged by the Headmasters or Headmistresses of the competing schools — designed to test magical ability, intelligence, and courage. While there have been new safety procedures established, these tasks are not for the faint of heart. As such, the Tournament will be judged by the three bravest wizards of Europe: Harry Potter, Ronald Weasley, and Hermione Granger – another token of good faith with bringing the tournament back.
Each Champion is supposed to stand alone during the Tournament, receiving no outside help from anyone, including friends and teachers. Cheating is frowned upon, though it has been known to take place several times during the history of the Tournament, and some people believe it to be a traditional part of the event.
The Yule Ball, held on Christmas Day night, is a traditional part of the Tournament. The Ball includes a feast, and a formal dance where the Champions and their partners lead the host school in dancing. Students old enough to attend are allowed to bring a friend. Students that are too young to attend may attend if invited by a student old enough to attend the ball.
Once the three tasks have been completed, a champion will be named. With this, there will be an award ceremony. All students from each school and families are allowed to attend the celebration!
"Eternal glory! That's what awaits the student who wins the Triwizard Tournament, but to do this, that student must survive three tasks. Three extremely dangerous tasks."
—Albus Dumbledore

Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry is regarded as the finest wizarding school in the world. The school was founded by the four most celebrated wizards of the age (c. 993): Godric Gryffindor, Helga Hufflepuff, Rowena Ravenclaw and Salazar Slytherin. It was the setting of the final battle of the Second Wizarding War, the Battle of Hogwarts, which resulted in the deaths of several witches and wizards. Ultimately the Order of the Phoenix won when Harry Potter defeated his nemesis, Lord Voldemort. Now, two years later, it is restored! To celebrate the defeat of the Dark Lord, the school is about to host the, also renewed and improved, Tri-Wizard Tournament.
