Pierce immediately turned around, his arms wrapped tightly around her petite body. His lips pressed tightly together, a quick sigh coming out of his nose. What was he supposed to do? Was he really hold a dead girl? His fingers began to run through her soft blonde hair, a delicate kissing placing itself onto the top of her head. “You still love me,” he whispered as his thumb began to run softly against her t-shirt - just like he had done when they were together. “Real or not real?”
How could he ask her such a question? Stepping back and out of his grip, looking at him with wide eyes - she choked softly back on a sob. With her hands pushing back the loose strands of hair from her face, she shook her head. “I don’t know..” She didn’t know anything. She was dead. She’d been for awhile and she hadn’t seen Pierce in so long. The feelings she once had were never there again. All she’d focused on for the past year and three months was herself and her family. How she could tell them? If she should tell them? Maybe live a lie and pretend that she’d forever stay in the hotel because she liked the décor. “I’m sorry... no.” She finally replied. “Pierce, you and I... we were a long time ago. I moved on, and I married someone else. I never loved you then, not in the way you think I did, and I don’t love you now in that way. I’m not and I’ve never been in love with you... I just... I love you. But not in the way I know you want.”
