i do think the headcanons/posts about damian acting like a kid only around certain people are kind of missing the point. like. yeah, sure. i see what you're trying to say about how he's more comfortable around specific people. but consider he acts like a kid around everyone, because he is a kid, but not in the "pick me up" "tie my shoes" way half the posts seem to imply. he's 10-15, depending on where in canon we are, and either way, he's self-sufficient. he's a shithead. he's saying whatever to get a reaction. he's verbose, but he'll use a big word incorrectly. he's info dumping about whatever interests him, and he doesn't care if you want to hear about it or not. he plays video games. he listens to music and stomps around. he likes to be challenged. he asks inappropriate/ill-timed questions and gets upset when things don't go his way. he's always a kid around everyone. just because he doesn't need to or want to be babied, doesn't make him any less of that.
