You do what you need to do to survive, sometimes that means eating bugs. Honestly it's a silly thing to get prissy about. Some bugs can even be prepared in really delicious ways.

I guess I'm just fascinated by your entire situation. Starting out as just a little gelatinous experiment that eventually got out and absorbed the knowledge of everyone involved? I assume that now you've developed the sentience of a human — or several, for that matter — it's a lot more difficult for you to process the reality of everything. You could become nearly anything you want, but you choose not to because you'd be in way over your head.

Huffing, he crosses his arms. "Well that's presumptuous, maybe I don't choose to be anything else cause I like what I am at this current moment."

"I change into other things all the time."

He suddenly shifts into a mirror image of the other Rick, from the other's spicky hair to his boots.

"See?"He says smugly @notthatrick

The Rick chuckled at Mimic's new appearance.

Flattering, but not exactly creative. But, I guess I can't entirely blame you for thinking of me first.

Oooh, you want creative? Fine! Then how about this?

He takes the Rick's bait and turns into something he thinks will impress him. He shifts into a panther. His normal blue hue shimmering like an undercoat beneath the dark fur. He stalks around him, trying to look threatening.

How about now?

The Rick simply rolled his eyes at the panther.

Yawn, come on. Can you really only think of stuff on Earth? All those humans really restrained your capabilities, huh?

Oh... He changes back to his human form. No, I could change into whatever I see. It's just... I haven't been off Earth before.

Besides the Citadel of Rick's that is. He crosses his arms again, more out of insecurity than genuine upset. And there weren't many other faces there to begin with. I could turn into a Rick that was a fish man. He offered.

The Rick raised an incredulous brow at this information.

You haven't even TRIED going off-planet before? You've got a Rick in you but that glorified playhouse scared you into a corner?

Mimic glares back, insulted. My Rick was a biophysicist. Not an engineer. So unless you find new methods of biochemical competition creative, I guess I'd just bore you.

He never went off world either. I guess he just wasn't like the rest of you. he shrugs. And I'm not scared! I just have different priorities now. If I wanted to, I could go... after my kid's in college. Or something.

She isn't just a cover? That kid isn't doing much for you. She's holding you back.

Mimic laughs, not really finding RIck's comment funny. Holding me back from what? Being the 'smartest man in the universe'? Like you? He smirks.

Aaaah, no offense but I was hoping you wouldn't be one of those. But look, if you're really concerned about my progress, I'll let you know I have plenty of time to cultivate my power or whatever it is you think I should be doing. I can wait for her to grow up and do her thing before worrying about missing anything.

Which is more than I can say for 'Ricks', unless you got a proper de ageing method, you're powering through more clones than Star Wars. he teased lightly as he got close to the other's face, smiling knowingly.

The Rick gave Mimic a long look, almost like he was searching for something. He then gave a casual shrug.

Alright, fair enough. I kind of just wanted to see what would make you tick. Physically you're designed to adapt, but mentally you're stuck with the limitations of human thought. I just know that it'll take a little bit more than simple prodding to push you over the edge.

Like water off a duck's back, Mimic reverts back to his wide-eyed, carefree demeanor. It does normally take alot to push him, but mostly he just doesn't see the need to exert extra energy getting heated.

Sheesh! At least buy me dinner first if that's what you're after. He chuckles

The Rick's face twitched with a hint of a frown at the comment before he casually shrugged it off, approaching Mimic.

Eh, not my style. It was either this or the more aggressive option.

One of his hands reached for Mimic's shoulder.

Oh, I was just kidding. No need to get so dramatic- he starts saying as he watches the weird Rick's hand rest on him.

As the Rick rested his hand on Mimic's shoulder, Mimic felt a sharp prick. The Rick pulled his hand away before Mimic could react further, revealing a needle connected to his wrist.

He gave a tiny jolt at the injection and scowled down at the entry point. His body reacted silently. His molecules diluting, attempting to read the foreign body and break it down. Was it a poison? Nano bots? Paralyzing agent? It was rude if anything else.

Seriously? he asks incredulously. What was that? Do I look like a petri dish to you?

The Rick chuckled as he sheathed the needle back into his body.

Relax, I'm only taking a sample. You can always make more of yourself, no?

Oh. That's why he couldn't see anything. Nothing's there. Well then it's probably fine-

Wait, NO! Mimic snaps back No no no NO me gusta! Give it back! You can't try and make me, you don't know what you're doing. he protested while approaching him to try and get it back somehow.

He was upset, but a part of it was also out of concern for what could happen. What happened once. He could feel the small sample Rick took trying to get back to him, gently stirring in its container.

Why would I want to make another you? Managing others is too much of a pain and I don't want to have to deal with a mindless version of you when I could just manipulate the genetic makeup from a sample. I'll make good use of it, don't worry.

God you really are "Weird" Rick. What do you even want that you couldn't just ask me? He weakly holds onto the wrist of the hand the needle was in.

If I had a quarter for every Rick who thought they could figure me out by pricking me, I could afford a nice car. Give my goo back! he grabs the one arm with both hands and puts it inside his mouth, enveloping it in his cold cytoplasm down to the wrist to try and get the sample back through the skin. it's harder with the additional hardware though, he might not be able to.

The Rick's body started to emit a sharp electric charge in response to Mimic's cytoplasm as he attempted to pull his arm away. He grabbed his portal gun with his other hand.

You're pretty clueless if you think that I'm anything like those other Ricks you've met before. And I'm pretty sure we both know what your answer would've been if I "asked".

His head buzzes from the electric shock, jostling him for the second Rick needed to pull away. "AH, You're a butt! I hope it eats all your tools and you have to go to office max for paper clips like a loser!" he snaps, referring to the sample.

Because as far as he knew, he could not 'make more' of himself. Without Mimic, any piece separated from him is going to be following it's feeding instinct. He had a sixth sense for this, so he lets Rick have the chance to leave. He can try and track him down later.

Before Mimic could say anything else, the Rick stepped forward and disappeared into the portal below.
