Reading the shipping discourse involving Alastor is always funny to me because the central argument people have against Alastor being in a relationship with other characters is his asexuality. But I’m over here like if you care about Vox and Lucifer as characters and want to see them have a happy ending at all you should be filing a restraining order on their behalf to keep that psychopath away from them. 

I love Alastor as a complex and nuanced character, but that man should not have access to another living creature’s physical/emotional/psychological wellbeing. 

He has proven himself incapable of being in the same room with another character without it divulging into him gaslighting, shaming, ridiculing, demeaning, mocking, taunting, humiliating, berating, distorting, lying, projecting, punching, threatening, bullying, dismissing, or manipulating another person.

And the fact that the two characters he’s shipped with the most are the two that have the shittiest self-esteem and appear the most desperate to have other people love them (with obvious severe abandonment issues)...

Just honestly prayer circle for Lucifer and Vox.

It’s hard to catch the first time, but seeing Lucifer shake after trying to punch Vox just makes me so sad. He’s trying SO HARD to punch a hole through that dumb TV’s face, fighting with everything he has, but he can’t do it. It’s a great writing decision in my opinion: let Lucifer live amongst the people who abused his gift of free will while taking away his own. Why would he be able to hurt the people he gave his gift to? That was the whole point; sinners made their choices.

Also, I do like that Vox didn’t outright expose Lucifer here. He just called him “weak” and said “you won’t do it” and not “you can’t do it.” Vox made himself look stronger. It’s a smart play tbh, because if all the sinners knew Lucifer had no power over them, Vox would have lost the upper hand. He holds that power over the King of Hell and he can use that to his advantage later if need be.
