i wonder what jello's reaction would be if he saw a handful of people treating the DKs like a leftist boy band...would he be furious, thinking that we missed the entire point of their message/music?
like, No jello i assure you that's not the case at all, and i bet there were women back in the 80s who, after having gone to your shows, would be lounging around at home with their besties, painting their nails and doing makeup and sorting through their DK physical media while saying stuff like, "Jello was sooo hot and cute tonight!!" and then a friend, as she's chewing gum, says "He's so overrated—Ray is so MUCH cuter!!" while another friend argues that "No, Klaus is the cutest!!" and then one of the gals has this sad look on her face as she says, "I miss Ted and 6025..." then her bestie beside her pats her reassuringly on the shoulder as she says, "It's okay, sweetie...but I'd argue that 6025 doesn't belong with them, and Darren's a much better drummer than Ted. He's also the cutest out of them all."
and then there's this onslaught of whining and protesting from the others which inevitably leads into a pillow fight that lasts ten minutes before they all go to sleep—tomorrow is yet another day for them to see their favorite band of all time.
If such a friend group existed during that time, I could not be anymore envious.
