Ripley Aguirre, better known simply as Pilot, wasn’t always the reckless, cigarette stained daredevil the mercs know today. She grew up on a quiet mexican farm, an only child surrounded by wooden toys and wide skies. Her parents taught her to build, to dance, to fix things with her hand, and encouraged her ambitions. The day she saw her first plane cutting through the clouds, something inside her changed forever. She wanted to touch the sky– and she did.
He became one of the most talented fliers in his division before a mission gone wrong sent him spiraling to the ground, a metal rod piercing his skull in the process. Ripley survived, but his mind didn’t come back in one piece. The person who woke up was still sharp and brave, but there were cracks– memory loss, emotional detachment, a growing addiction to danger. Soon, Pilot replaced Ripley.
What they lost in stability they gained in raw chaos. Pilot craves adrenaline like oxygen. They laugh at the line between life and death, often crossing it for fun. Their memory slips like sand through their fingers, they forget names, faces, even their own past. But when it comes to their team, they loves them fiercely.. sometimes too fiercely.
Among the mercs, opinions on her are… divided.
Scout thinks they're the coolest thing alive and his favorite partner in crime, though he knows better than to trust them with anything serious.
Soldier sees her as a fellow warrior, reckless but valiant. The perfect cadet to trust when you need someone to watch your six.
Pyro understands his chaos the best. Together they draw, babble, and set things on fire, speaking a language only the two of them seem to know.
Demoman shares their laughter and their drinks, but keeps one eye open (ba dum tss). He’s seen what reckless joy can do.
Heavy respects her heart, not her head. He’s the one who grabs her by the collar before she does something truly stupid.
Engineer sighs the loudest when he returns from a flight with half of the plane destroyed… again. Still, he quietly helps him piece things (and sometimes memories) back together.
Medic finds them amusing. He feeds the recklessness like a scientist feeding a lab rat, he knows better than to turn em down completely. Pilot never refuses his requests, and he enjoys every second of it.
Sniper thinks he's too loud, too bold, too everything. He keeps his distance, though begrudgingly respects the loyalty.
Spy finds her exhausting yet reliable. He knows she’d never betray the team so he weaponizes the chaos. (They also happen to share a cigarette brand, mainly the why he tolerates her)
Pilot’s unpredictable nature makes em a wild card on the battlefield, a disaster waiting to happen or a miracle in motion, depends on the wind really. They're loud, bright, unkillable, and unashamedly alive.
She fights not because she remembers why, but because it’s the only thing that still makes sense.

You know them, you love them, you better! Introducing Team Fortress’s very own, The Gliders! Yes you heard that right, this year our red friend comes back with a vengeance, and joined by his mysterious Blu counterpart! Representing the Special Forces, the Glider brothers are going all out, it’s employment or bust this year, and even I coward in terror at the thought of what will happen if they lose. Fly high boys! If you know what’s good for ya, vote for your favorite sugar gliders today!

It's a bird! It's a plane! It's a depressed middle-aged Italian man with a flight suit! The Red Glider swoops into the fight, dragging you with him via his grappling hook. Our Aviator takes a new approach to our gravel field; with his one-of-a-kind “Gliding Suit” and endless supply of ariel ammo, he’s a menace from a never before seen angle in Team Fortress 2. Above.. He's a bit outta his gourd, spending most of your life isolated in a forest studying "Italy's Shame," Leonardo Da Vinci will do that to you. But no worries! His good cooking and friendly-ish attitude will do more than enough to get you to look past his fre- OCCASIONAL!! Grazie tante! -"mad scientist" outbursts. About planes. Freak. Just whatever you do, DO NOT call it a “Flight Suit.” There’s a difference. He’s not called “The Flyer,” for pete sakes.
Watch high and low, but mainly high, the Blu Glider’s attacks are silent and swift, an efficient killer, he uses his deadly talons to tear into prey whole! Swallowing the rest and regurgitating it hours later as a pellet!.. no that’s an owl, but his keen senses and vast knowledge, (in the field of gliding,) sure do remind you of one! And the killing! He’s really good at that! The Blu Glider is a man of many talents, and could well rule the world if he so chooses, but our fiercely determined friend has only one thing on his mind, something he needs resources only provided by Mann Co. to accomplish. Will this be his in? Will he complete his life’s mission? Will his brother ever remember to pick up his screws he needs? Meeting Faye Mata, voice actress of A.K.I. from Street Fighter 6
It’s been almost 2 years since I’ve met Faye Mata in real life. I have never told the story in detail, at least not publicly online. In summary, it was absolutely wonderful and Faye is so incredibly nice 💜💜. Here’s the full story:

Today I have met Faye Mata, voice actress of A.K.I. herself! I told her that her voice was so perfect for AKI, it was actually how I imagined it before seeing the EVO trailer for the first time. She was so excited when I mentioned it. I loved how her voice sounded dangerous, sensual and crazy, but also sounded cute at the same time when she’s fangirling over FANG. She laughed and said she wanted to differentiate AKI’s personality, having the assassin side and the other as fangirl. And then I told her that I relate to AKI because she loves F.A.N.G so much. Faye was like, “YOU LIKE F.A.N.G?!” in an excited manner. I told her I’m crazy about him and that there’s many FANG girls out there too lol. She said she wished she knew about this sooner because she thought it’s amazing lol. She was happy that AKI’s characterization meant so much to me. I also told her that Minaree (@minareee3), another FANGirl, couldn’t make it to the convention and I’m there on her behalf to say, “Hi!” for her. Faye said maybe in the next con appearance she’ll meet Mina 💜💜.
I had Faye sign a signature on one of her autograph prints (I chose the one that had a sliver of FANG on the side). She asked me my name. I answered Remy2FANG. She said she actually recognized my username from Twitter! Lol wow, I was pretty excited. That’s amazing. I do remember that she did retweeted one of my funny AKI FANG art, and I also posted a few comments on her tweets.
And then photos. The first was just me and her. I asked for a 2nd one but with a figure. When I took it out, she saw FANG and she got really excited and let out, “Master!” And she posed like this. It’s great. Omg. I can’t believe I got to FANGirl with A.K.I. herself haha!
Oh, and she said she like my shirt lol.

Even before meeting Faye, I loved her passionate posts on Twitter about both A.K.I. and SF6. She interacted with fans and was coached by Sajam in playing the game. Faye also said nice things about F.A.N.G too from time to time. Even calling him the G.O.A.T. 🤩😎🤩😎
Faye Mata is truly A.K.I. 💜💜. She loves F.A.N.G too!

During our time at gamescom asia 2023, we had the golden opportunity to speak with Faye Mata, the voice of Street Fighter 6's A.K.I.
The company that handles the English voice acting for SF6 is the same company that did the English voice acting for SFV with the same director…who is also good friends with Jesse Merlin (voice of F.A.N.G ). I made a post about it here:

Vocal delivery comparison between A.K.I. (SF6) and F.A.
Speaking of Jesse Merlin, I’ve met him on several occasions too (they warrant their own stories). I even watched some of his live performances. I’ll say, his singing voice is pure magic ✨⭐️🌟💫. FANG and AKI are marvelous singers 🥰🥰
It’s crazy how I have met both F.A.N.G and A.K.I. 💜🥰💜🥰
Oh, and Minaree (@minareee3) eventually met Faye Mata almost a year later…and she cosplayed as A.K.I. too! Faye actually saw Mina in her cosplay a few months prior at EVO 2024 and wanted to meet her, but ended up missing her. At least she got to meet her a few months later 😉😉. And Faye absolutely adored Mina’s AKI cosplay. Mina also cosplayed as F.A.N.G in the past. I don’t know how many people have actually cosplayed as both poison master and disciple, but Mina is the only one I know of. She was also a FANGirl long before I was, so she’s one of the OGs 💜😎💜😎
