hehehe. our favorite hot pink wet cat robo man. it took me a minute to decide on a design for his robes, but i’m happy with the final result :D

i wanted to include a prayer bead necklace but i honestly don’t think he’d wear it for long… it’s probably something that was part of his original outfit that he abandoned after all the ancients ascended.

Since telling my Mum that I considered myself ace, I already noticed that she was a bit… too interested, if you want to say it like that. Asking for “signs”, or how being ace feels like… I tried to answer her to the best of my ability, giving her links to websites that would explain better as I ever could.

Today she said, very quietly, “Do you think I could be ace, too?”

And I said very carefully “If you think it suits you, I don’t see why not”

And my Mum, my strong, self-confident Mum, who never once  has ever felt uncomfortable in her own skin as far as I know, beamed in relief. Relief. 

 Because she never knew. Because getting married young and bearing children for her husband (meaning sex) was expected of her. Because everyone gave her the feeling as if something would be wrong or broken about her if she didn’t want, didn’t do that.

Because her whole life long, she thought there was something wrong with her.

I’m honestly torn between feeling happy and relieved for her, and angry that humanity has such trouble with showing some understanding to those who don’t fit in the boxes society has designed for all of us.

Update: My Mum was getting ready for bed when I noticed her humming loudly around her toothbrush and I asked her what the good mood was about.

  She beamed around a mouth-full of toothpaste and said, very proudly and deliberately, “I think I like that, being ace.”

And continued on with her brushing, humming a bit louder.

  (Or in other words, I’m more than a little bit teary eyed.)

I had almost the exact same conversation with my Mom. We were talking about the LGBT acronym and explained that it’s LGBTQ and that some people add the PIA at the end as well. And she asked me “What’s the a?” So when I explained it she said immediately “Me. That’s like me.” This is why I get so mad at people who think this is all just trendy bs, people just don’t have the vocabulary or permission to describe their lived experience.

does anyone have like an anti aesthetic. like something you look at and can recognize as a complete fashion/interior design/artistic movement and understand it but it makes you shudder seeing it. i am not talking like “its morally bad” “its poorly structured” like just sheerly devoid of joy for you actually invites a repulse response.

The drone builds, and builds, and breaks. A piece using all three tELHARMONIC outputs.

With the new rack, I find myself leaving patches up for days at a time, and revisiting them when inspiration strikes. This is great for developing an idea, but horrible for just getting things out. And also, due to that lag, I'm not sure exactly where this patch started - I kept switching things out here and there.

This piece is made of three parts, each coming from tELHARMONIC which is being modulated by Bloom and a very slow LFO from Ts-L. The Harmonic output goes through Ikarie, then Data Bender adding pitched repeats and saturation. Phase goes through through a slew limiter for antialiasing then Melotus Versio. Finally, Noise goes through Sinc Bucina, and is panned around by Vice Virga into Jumble Henge for noisy glitches jumping around the mix and the stereo field.

I'd love to do more detailed patch notes like I used to, but quite frankly, there's too much going on. Planning to pick up Quadrax when the Perfect Circuit Labor Day sale comes around, and there will definitely be some cables in my cart too.

so anyway time to ramble cuz i just discovered the five pebbles expansion mod and it made me very very happy becaause wow!!! more pebbles insides!!!! 🥺

theres a kind of art to the insides of an iterator..... it feels intimate..... like im intruding..... literally crawling inside of them.. in their veins and in their mind... so intimate.... so close..... their beautiful lit up insides and dancing neurons and tight corridors.,,, some flooded,,, others lacking gravity,,,, their heavy beating hearts,,, the humming of machinery and the twinkling and creaking that sounds oddly like music....its beautiful as much as it is oddly grotesque. iterators are the kind of creature i kind of wish existed irl.... they are so intricate.... so beautiful,,, so powerful,,, and yet vulnerable enough one can just slip inside and crawl right in there....
