A pleasure to meet you all, I've finally created myself a blog after hearing that so many other rogues were on here...

Now, a few important guidelines:

All the basic DNIs: don't be a homophobe, racist, transphobe, polyphobe, et cetera, I shouldn't need to spell it all out. Don't be an asshole.

No NSFW asks or fanart: I, the mod, am under 18. I will update this when that ceases to be accurate, but either way, don't send NSFW content without asking (to anyone, be sensible here.)

Semi-suggestive or flirty is OK, my Riddler is in two dedicated relationships but is poly and open. I ship him with basically everyone, so don't worry about it if you're planning to RP as a canon or original character! If you want to make it a repeat/lore thing though, DM me first.

The version of Gotham this blog is based in is mostly Batman: The Animated Series. All my facts and headcanons may not be 'correct' or exactly as you like them. I welcome questions, comments or criticism, but try and be polite about it.

I will engage heavily with @tailor-of-gotham, my selfship sona blog (same mun). I am a sharing self/yumeshipper, if this makes you uncomfortable, please DNI. This will be tagged as #puzzle pockets which is my ship name.

I might seem mean at times, but this is only ever in character. There's never any expectation from me about people finishing my riddles, but Eddie might be unimpressed. I promise, I don't mean it as the mod.

You're welcome to send in asks either in or out of character! I welcome interaction with other roleplay blogs, DC or otherwise!

I (the mun) am Wyvern, feel free to check me out on my other blog: @wyverns-gold . I use any pronouns except she/her, I identify as genderfluid and pansexual. I am a sharing selfshipper/yumeshipper with BTAS Edward Nygma as my first/primary f/o! I'll tag any OOC content as #mod wyvern!

I (the character) am the Riddler, or Mr Edward Nygma. I use he/him pronouns, but I'm unlikely to get particularly offended if you slip up. I'm bisexual, and it's relatively common knowledge to many that I don't abide much by the expectations of monogamy. I'm here for three key reasons: sharing riddles, engaging with other Gothamites, and garnering support for MY video game, The Riddle of the Minotaur (hence my blog name). Anyone willing to send a strongly-worded comment or two to Competitron about getting me my royalties would be much appreciated... I'll tag my writings as #riddler rambles, and my riddles specifically meant for other people in Gotham and beyond as #themed riddles.

If you would use a weapon, what would it be?

Well, I've used a few weapons, though most of them you might call traps instead.

If I had to choose a weapon for traditional combat, however, I think I'd use a sword, the kind I could hide in my cane for a last resort.

Riddle me this: A man has two, a king has one, a beggar has none. What is it?

Well, there are a few answers I could give you:

First of all, I'm inclined to guess that you've mistyped your riddle to me. It's rather close to "A man has two, a king has four and a beggar has none", which is often answered as either suits (a man wears a suit to his wedding and his funeral, and a king has four suits in a deck of cards, and a beggar can't afford any kind of suit) or legs (a man walks on two, a king sits on a horse or a throne with four, and a beggar kneels).

However, if I believe that you didn't type it incorrectly, I would pose that the answer is "lives". A man has a work life and a home life, a king gets no separation between them so only has one, and a beggar has no life worth living.

You certainly had me thinking for a while on this one, though I largely attribute that to puzzling over whether you've made an error or not.

Sooo did you build the Minotaur yourself or did you hire someone else to do it? Same with all the traps in the maze itself

I wasn't personally responsible for its construction, no.

It was Mockridge's idea to turn my game into that tacky theme park attraction, I simply repurposed it. I switched out the traps for their more lethal versions, and sharpened the Minotaur's sword, but the base construction wasn't mine.

What do you think about that puppet version of you?

It doesn't measure up to the real thing, of course. No better than a tin soldier in a green hat, as far as accuracy goes...

I've never used a tommy gun like that in my life, and its riddles are nothing more than simple puns...

But I appreciate the recognition, even if it's a sub-par representation of my genius.

It was in that old costume shop that Jervis took over as his hideout for a while. When he sold those microchipped "worry dolls" to Ms Vreeland, if I recall...

Mr. Riddler, i'm curious about your last name. I've heard from other people that your last name is Nashton, yet it seems like your actual last name is Nygma, is there any reason for this particular name confusion had happened?

Ah, well, as I've been led to believe, there are many different versions of myself out there...

But as for me, in particular, my last name hasn't been "Nashton" for almost fourteen years now. But it was, once upon a time. Some people would rather talk as if I'd never changed it at all, but it's easy not to give their disrespect any mind.

How does it feel to be called adorable that one time (which i presumed to be your first time being called that) during your "reformed" days

It was not my first time being called adorable! It just happened to be the first time I'd been called something so... fond, in several years. It's not the kind of compliment I usually receive.

...But it was nice.

Something of yours, Jervis? I'm not certain I know what that would be...

But as for your riddle, I believe the answer must be the human eye:

Eyes come in many shades, everyone has them, and I'm sure you're more than aware of the phrases "a feast for the eye" and "don't trust everything you see"... And finally, the human eye (or technically, the visual processing centres of the brain) look for patterns, like faces, even when there are none.

I hope that's the answer you were looking for, Jervis. Your riddle skills could use work, but it was a fun enough brainteaser...

So Edward, how did you recovered after the whole debacle with the virtual reality simulation and it frying your brains a bit? Did you get help from someone in arkham?

I suppose the "specialists" in Arkham may have contributed somehow... I wouldn't know. I was unfortunately too catatonic to remember.

It certainly took some time. From what I was told, some kind of mock trial took place while I was still... indisposed. The others needed a sixth jury member, and apparently getting me dressed back up in my suit was substitute enough. But then again, I believe most of the jury were also witnesses, so having one who was still partially unconscious hardly weakened their case more than they already had.

So, to get to the point, I think it largely just required time for my mind to fully recover. If anything, I think my mind is sharper than it was before.

Sooo Mr. Nigma, how did you met Tailor? What was your first impression of them?

Well, when I first met my dear Tailor, they were just that: my tailor. I had been fired by Mockridge, and I had begun my plan for revenge: I drafted my idea for my Riddler persona and had been looking for someone in the fashion district to bring it to life.

I hadn't seen their shop before, it filled a previously-vacant storefront, and I felt almost compelled to give it a look. Perhaps it was the mystery. Perhaps it was the non-disclosure policy in the window. Or both.

My first impression of them, really, was all rather professional until my "reform". The mask intrigued me, and I was rather certain that I wanted to unravel that mystery, but he was, first and foremost, the person who made my suits.

They didn't start flirting until I invited them to one of my toy launch parties: they helped me to build my brand, it only seemed fair to invite them to a celebration of it.

Is that the tell-all you were fishing for?

OOC: Riddler week is over, I don't have the motivation to do the last day which I skipped, so my asks are back open!

I might try and get back into writing fic and/or making some RP starters, I'm sorry if I've started any rps and not gotten back to them I've been pretty busy the last week or so/not had particularly great ideas. A bit late but it's alright, I didn't have a good idea for day 7 anyway, so have a much higher-interest day 6: Sport!

I couldn't imagine BTAS Eddie playing much actual sport, but he'd definitely enjoy a good sports-themed video game! So, Super Punch-Out!! it is, fighting Mad Clown (reminds me of someone...).
