I'm only saying this for your sake, but objectively, it's not a smart idea to bring politics into normal hobbies. You might lose supporters of your blog just because of your political stance, and that would be terrible since you're so amazing!! It's only a suggestion, but I really reccomend not bringing politics into anything.

It sucks that I had to unfollow one of my favorite writers on here, but I just want to say this and then let it go.

People are allowed to feel disappointed when someone they admired turns out to hold harmful views. That’s not being “too invested” or “parasitocial,” that’s being human. We naturally hope the people we admire—especially entertainers whose work we’ve connected with—see the world the way we do. That doesn’t make us naïve, it makes us hopeful.

If you’re someone who doesn’t get attached to public figures or doesn’t care what they say outside their art, that’s your prerogative. But using that as a reason to keep supporting them, while trying to make others feel silly or dramatic for being hurt or choosing to walk away, isn’t fair.

I’m not saying everyone has to delete their fics or stop creating. Some of those stories are genuinely amazing. But don’t act like people are doing too much for stepping back. Some of us can’t separate the art from the artist, and that’s okay too. Just be honest—if you’re still supporting them, it’s either because you don’t care about what they said, you support what they said, or you’re choosing to overlook it because you still like them. But please stop making excuses and let people feel how they feel.
