shiv might've fucked kendall over, but i think she saved the family.

i know it sucks (fucking TOM? TOM???) but think about it. if kendall became CEO, they would've all resented each other. they had that moment of living out their CHILDHOOD fantasy ("he told me when i was 7") of him becoming king, and they did the ceremony and they crowned kendall, because the only people it really fucking mattered to was THEM. the only reason kendall cared was because of them. because of his father. but there's a reason his crown was a mushy pile of disgusting goo that is inedible. it's because of what roman said -- it's all bullshit.

despite everything, now that the company is out of their hands, their entire life identity, especially kendall's, has been wiped clean. their entire lives revolved around this empty thing, and for what? they are starting from nothing, yes, but they are phoenixes reborn from the ashes. and despite everything, they will have each other. it might take a long time for them to forgive each other, but where will they have left to go if not their mother's carribbean vacations, bruised and broken but human again?

kendall used physical violence as his last resort to get roman on his team. he spent decades protecting roman from their fathers abuse and now that kendall had a taste of the power he used it against roman, knowing it was his weakness. it’s what logan would have done.

there might be some disagreements over shiv's character this last episode but what i rescue from this is that shiv, despite following the cycle and becoming her mother, has saved so her two brothers from it. i dont know what the agreement is on what is coming for kendall but she definitely saved roman. i think it was the bravest decision she has made in the entire show. and i think what i love about it is that she made it on her own. she might be caroline now, becoming a mother, her mother, but she played a part on saving, maybe the most affected child under logan's parenting. she freed roman from the cage.
