Ronda, Spain 🇪🇸
Ronda is one of the oldest towns in Spain, with a history that goes back more than 2,000 years. It was first settled by the Celts, then later developed by the Romans, who called it Arunda.
During the Moorish period (8th–15th centuries), Ronda became an important cultural and defensive city. Many of its famous buildings and walls were built during this time.
In 1485, the city was conquered by the Catholic Monarchs, Ferdinand II of Aragon and Isabella I of Castile, during the Reconquista.
Today, Ronda is famous for its dramatic cliffs, historic bridges like Puente Nuevo, and its role in the early development of modern Spanish bullfighting at Plaza de Toros de Ronda.
