haha but like what if I was a young woman from a wealthy family, and the oldest of three daughters and my father recently died and due to misogynistic laws in England my mother, my sisters, and I didn't get any money and instead it all went to my half brother, who's wife is both greedy and she hates us, so despite my father's will clearly telling him to take care of us financially, instead he gives us very little money and for a time they live with us in the family mansion, where one day my half-brother's wife's brother comes and we become close and I develop a crush on him, and my eccentric sister continuously tells me that he returns my feelings, and that I should say something to him, but due to my sister-in-law's greediness, my sisters and my mother and I were forced to move to a small cottage in the english countryside that my rich cousin owns. There, I meet my cousin's highly quirky and extremely gossipy mother-in-law, who keeps trying to find out who it is that I have a crush on. Then, my cousin introduces my family to his friend, who's a colonel, and much older than my sisters and I. He immediately takes a liking to my second oldest sister, but she's extremely repulsed and disinterested in him. Despite this, my cousin and his mother-in-law continue to try and set him up with her. Before they could do much with that pairing though, my sisters take a walk and the second oldest slips and hurts herself because it became a rain storm. Then, a posh young man comes and helps her back to the cottage, where she instantly becomes enamoured with him and hopes to see him again. After that he comes over often, and it becomes clear that the colonel and him already know each other, and do not get along, as they are both vying for my sister's attention. But, right when my sister believes that the young man is going to propose, he tells her he's suddenly off to London, and he disappears without ever returning her letters. My cousin introduces my sisters and I to his mother-in-laws distant cousins who are sisters. We talk, but it’s a very strained relationship, but then my cousin lets it slip to which young gentleman my heart is dedicated to, and it all goes downhill from there. The older of the two sisters is talking to me privately when she tells me that she is engaged to the young man that I’m in love with, to which I’m heartbroken over, but agree to keep her secret. I don’t even tell my own sister. Then one day my cousin's mother-in-law invites me and my younger sister to London, and there we meet with the man that I like, but right as he tries to tell me about his engagement, he learns that I already know of it, and resigns himself to his fate. Then, at a ball, we finally meet with the young man to whom my sister loves, but right as she meets with him, she learns that he is engaged to a woman who is much wealthier in comparison to our family. Heartbroken, she faints, and encloses herself in her room for days when the colonel, whom has always been extremely respectful of my sister and kind to my family, shows up and reveals the backstory of the man whom my sister dedicated herself to. He revealed that the young man had also used his very own adopted daughter, whom was much younger than himself, and once he learned she was with child he had abandoned her, just as he did with my sister because she did not have money. Once we learned of this, we took her home, and in a delusional fit she went out into a rainstorm to look for the young man who broke her heart, but all she finds is illness as she becomes deathly ill and many expect her to die. Instead, I cry and beg her to wake up and become better, expressing that she’s my best friend and I would die without her. During this time, it comes out publicly that the man who I love is engaged to the woman, who is much poorer than his family, and it comes out that he was renounced from his family’s will and will not receive any money from then on. My sister’s health improves, and the colonel comes to see her and help her. He’s kind and slowly she returns his feelings. Eventually the man whom I am in love with comes back, and I learn that the woman dumped him once he lost his inheritance, and he tells me that he was in love with me the whole time and that he was too worried about keeping his word to the young woman to break it off with her. We share a chaste kiss and my sister gets married to the colonel and I get married to the man who I have loved the whole time.
