A block of amethyst is a ore block found in geodes or crafted from amethyst shards. It copies and 'repeats' vibrations recieved by adjacent sculk sensors.

right lads this isn't funny anymore. first the creeper head and now THIS??? need i remind you what this head represents? after you traversed a whole other dimension and took down one of the strongest beings in the game, you travel to gain the gift of flight and recieve a trophy of your battle, that head. amethyst blocks make nice sounds yeah, but that's it. this head symbolises you freeing the end, freeing the endermen of a tyranical rule!! what's more beautiful than that?

anyone know why terrain generates more obvious differences between chunks in snowy biomes, especially in Bedrock?

I was doing some woodcutting at night because I'd been doing it all day and didn't want to pause, but I was about done and about to go to bed when I saw a trident stuck in the floor of my house after I opened the front door, and I was like the fuck.. turned around, local drowned in the river was throwing them at me but frankly being a terrible shot, so i got my bow and tried to dispatch it real quick (also being a terrible shot) and by the end of it I had like eight tridents in my lawn and a birch sapling in one hand. Night gardening in minecraft is something else

so asides from like, doors, staircases and fireplaces, what are other structures or parts of structures people have just Found in the wilderness/woods..... or you could build in the middle of nowhere in minecraft

Beds are a big one in my experience, as far as things you can also get in minecraft. I’ve found probably a dozen bedframes and/or mattresses in the woods over the years. Log bridges over streams also, things like that. Run down little forts

Little art projects made from the stuff around is another interesting one. I suppose you could represent that with fences connecting trees, or banners hung up on them, or a painting on the side of a block of stone, or an item frame on the ground. I’m not sure how much these count as structures but they could be good accent pieces

really mean minecraft mod idea: rituals that work but in a very vague and hard to understand ways

at the start of a world, a set of actions are randomly chosen which have some positive effect. walking counterclockwise around a tree or throwing an item into a fire or killing an animal with an axe. there has to be a very large number of possible actions such that they won't seem to repeat.

when doing a ritual, you get a buff that's clearly there but kind of subtle. maybe ores drop more, or monsters don't hurt as much. it's never communicated that you have a buff, the idea is that you accidentally do a ritual and notice "oh shit I'm getting really lucky, maybe I should do that more"

there's also a set of attributes which can greatly increase the effectiveness of your rituals, completely randomized per world of course. sometimes it's additional steps, drawn from the same set as before. sometimes it's decorating the ritual site in a particular way, with skulls or candles or flowers. maybe it's more effective at a certain time of day or phase of the moon. maybe it's more effective on the top of a mountain or in a cave.

because the magnitude and duration of the buff is randomized, you can't really know if stuff you're doing is helping, but you'll be always trying shit out and modifying your rituals. the buffs get really impactful, and you can hardly play the game without them.

after a while you'll build up elaborate rituals and intricate temples housing them, and importantly

half the shit you're doing does absolutely nothing

if you get lucky a few times with a modification to the ritual you'll adopt it even if it actually does nothing. depending on how succeptible to confirmation bias you are, you might develop whole rituals that literally do nothing but you're entirely convinced that they do. you'll be dancing around trees and putting pumpkins on your head for literally no measurable benefit.

will this be actually fun? probably not. will I actually make this? absolutely not. i just think it would be an interesting case study in behavior. if someone wants to steal my idea, please do and tell me so I can play it.

⋆ ˚｡⋆୨୧˚ behold! my glowberry 'vineyard!' was watching barce's hardcore series and got so incredibly inspired by their attention to detail that i wanted to build something in my own world that i could experiment with.

ended up going with a vineyard i had built a while ago in a creative world. this was also my first ever time using podzol and coarse dirt in a build, so that was a lot of fun to experiment with, too. thinking of including those blocks in more of my future projects :)

also loving the cypress trees in the background. they're definitely not what i had imagined, but i don't hate looking at it either. makes the whole area more dense and more lush.
